The hotel itself is in a great location. The complimentary wifi worked great and the complimentary breakfast was also decent enough. The staff was very friendly. Our room was not thoroughly cleaned, however. There was a large milk bone (dog treat) on the floor behind a curtain in our room, and a Taco Bell sauce packet in that vicinity too. The pool was also too cold for my son’s liking. The second biggest reason we picked this hotel was for family swim time each day, and the pool’s temperature made thag not viable. Desk staff claimed it was heated to 82, but it sure didn’t feel like it. Overall, it was a good stay for the price and for the location. It could have been better, but it was good enough.

Don’t plan on booking through Expedia again, we paid full rate on a hotel whose pool was and had been under repairs, Expedia advertised the room WITH a pool. We were not notified until the day before our stay, after other hotels w/pool were full. Our grandkids were extremely disappointed. Desk attendant told us, Expedia was aware of the pool repairs and should not have offered pool in amenities.we are done with Expedia.

When my family and I traveled to Des Moines IA, this is the hotel we always stay at. It’s close to our family and everyone we want to visit while there. It’s always a must stay here for us. Great Staff and location.

The service here is amazing. The hotel is a bit dated, but the ladies at the front are accommodating and helpful especially for smaller children. Pool was great temp and large. No fancy things, but great easy stay.

Family trip to visit family and friends. The hotel is dated and in need of updating. Hallway to the room is dark on the floor we were located, also had a unfavorable smell. The room is ample space for the type. Good view of the city riverside. The floors were some what sticky and unkept. Two of the towels were worn and torn. A bit noisy hearing the room noise next to the room we were assigned to. Breakfast good choices. Staff friendly, helpful, and good to assist with needs. Will use again for the accessibility to the area.

Good price and hotel for a one night stay. Fitness room was set up great. Pool was in very poor condition with peeling paint- my kids were in it for 2 minutes.

I was charged an extra $95 the day after I checked out. I called them to find out what this unexpected charge was. They told me the comforter was cut from the top to the bottom! Are you kidding me? Seriously?!!! I absolutely did not do this, and for them to just slap this charge on my card is flat out theft. If someone did cut the comforter, they obviously had the wrong room. I will never stay here again. Expedia needs to reevaluate their contract with the Comfort Inn. I will most definitely share my experience with anyone seeking information on booking a room at the Des Moines area.

One night stay on a family trip through town. Hotel was convenient Drake University. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was 99 degrees and extremely humid outside. The A/C in the room was blowing hot air. When I requested another room with working A/C I was able to change rooms without hesitation. I did not get her name, but she must have been the manager, but she was the very best in accommodating us. She was there in the evening -AND- when we checked out in the morning. Give this lady a RAISE!!! Also, great breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again if I was ever in Des Moines.

There was what looked to be feces on the bathroom door, the room wasn’t swept or wiped down, and the overall look and feel of cleanliness was under par with dust. The pool room is also quite hot, over chlorinated, and there is condensation dripping everywhere. It was not tolerable for our kids who were super excited to swim.

The hotel and room were clean and pleasant. Noise is always an issue, whenever we stay. This time I called the front desk about 8:50pm as 2 women were outside our room in the hall arguing very loudly. After about 6 minutes, someone came upstairs and told them to quiet down. Kids running in the hall yelling - young kids. We also noted again that the floor in front of the elevators on the second floor were wet Sunday morning. We had to watch carefully so we didn't slip and fall on the wet tile. That's always frustrating. We enjoy the morning breakfast. Food is always good. Location is very convenient for us.
