DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago - Alsip

I flew to Chicago from San Diego alone for a family emergency. The room was overpriced, there were ants in the bathroom, something black came out of the shower drain, and no one came when I called requesting extra creamer for the coffee and extra washcloths. Very disappointed.

Too much noise, way too much noise. Too many parties w loud adults and kids too late at night. OMG! Hotel smelled like Marijuana

Shower did not work at this location, other guest on gloor were extremely loud a d my kids were unable to get any cookies

My room smelled like mold when I got in. I got moved to a different room that was smaller because the same size wasn't available. New room had a shower handle that was broken. Hallways smelled bad. Other guests let their kids run around the halls screaming and the hotel didn't do anything about it. No breakfast. You had to have wrist band on to use the pool (even though you had to use your key card to get into the pool) otherwise you were treated like a criminal.

I took my family for a little getaway and decided to stay a couple more days I was charged like 40$ more for my last day after my first 2 days were the same price which made no sense. Also the swimming pool was taken by kids being taught to swim by Indy and I was told I could swim in the deep end with my toddler who is scared of deep water. So we didn’t swim our other days we decided to stay. But other than that it was a nice clean hotel with nice staff.

My husband stayed overnight as a late V Day present for ourselves. The pool was nice a deep about 6.5 deep but the water was super cold. So many kids screaming and yelling and we got out because it was so loud. Their parents were there and didn’t say anything to them about using their inside voices. So annoying to the point you couldn’t have a conversation. Then around 1:30am there were a bunch of drunk women fighting in the hallway it woke me up from a dead sleep. The police were on the Floor (we stayed on the 2nd floor) and in the parking lot. We couldn’t fall asleep. Plus no insulation between the rooms. We could hear the people next door getting busy. Mind you, you could tell the guy was a 5 second chump but come on every 45 minutes she moaning. Ugh we checked out at 6 am because we didn’t sleep at all. It is an older hotel. And they don’t serve coffee 24/7 as advertised…disappointing.

The hotel is a bit run down and the walls are thin. There was a room full of children one night that didn't quieten down so everyone could sleep until security was called (not by me). Between that and the loud people in the hall waking me at 5:30 AM, I didn't sleep much. I drank water from the tap my entire stay because I didn't want to pay for their bottled water, which is fine, as I am not picky about my water, but I ended up getting charged for them, even though I didn't touch them. I had to call later to get the charges removed. All in all, not my most pleasant hotel experience...

I've stayed here plenty of times but this will be my last time the room was not clean had bugs the bathroom was not clean had kids running in the hallway overall it was a bad visit.

I guess my room was ok my floor was very noisy the kids was really loud. Which I know kids will be kids. But the manager on the shift at the time was too extra. Me and my kids couldn’t enjoy the pool because he was too busy making sure we had wristbands. Had us get out the water to put them on. When they was sitting in plain site on the table. It got to the point where he stood at the door like security and didn’t let you in if you didn’t have a wristband. I feel that if I’m not getting in the water and I’m fully dress.To watch my kids swim it shouldn’t have been a problem. And that was a HUGE problem. Not cool.

The staff at checkin was so friendly and cheerful, even though it was so late! They had warm cookies for us and made the process a breeze for a tired momma who drove through a blizzard to get there. The foyer was decorated beautifully for the winter. Our room was comfy and clean. The bathroom was very clean. I am 7-months pregnant with 5-year old and the bed was all sorts of comfy for our whole family. Water was for sale in the room but we bought our own due to the high price. Breakfast was hot and tasty, slightly better than your normal hotel buffet fair. The hosts and servers in the lounge/restaurant area were attentive and friendly. The pool was clean and large and my husband enjoyed the fitness center. The room did show its age with some wear and tear around the edges but it was minor and did not detract from the overall experience. Definitely the nicest hotel in the area!
