Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Atlanta Buckhead

This hotel could be the best of the best if the company would give it a facelift. The Management team and dayshift employees are awesome. They do everything they can to make sure your stay is amazing. With that said, this hotel needs an update and an outside sitting area away from front door. Location is great and price was reasonable for this hotel. Parking is free. No security guard that I seen but seemed to be in a good area. Hotel keeps side doors locked at all times. Pool area is small but lots of kids enjoyed! Gym I was suprised it’s nice for a hotel. Bathroom sink was way too small that was frustrating. Bed was comfy but take your own pillow. Need new towels.

I honestly don't understand how this hotel has such high ratings. It was filthy. And when my party came to check in for our 3 rooms, one smelled SO BAD like cigarettes that it was unbearable. When we asked the reception for a room change, they said they were sold out and couldn't do anything about it. So I gave up my room and decided not to check in til that evening hoping they would clean the room. Around 11pm, I finally came back and checked in and the reception staff was super nice and moved me to a non cigarette room. Not sure why they couldn't have done that the first time I tried to check in. the new room didn't smell like cigarettes but it did overwhelming smell like baby powder. not sure what that indicates...
