Homewood Suites by Hilton Athens Downtown University Area

Excellent hotel. We celebrated our family reunion.

My family is three have been staying here for the last three weeks and I promise it more than accommodating it was if I needed delivered everybody that works is very nice. We got to know a little bit of the house to the front desk and valet good impression from the first time come to Athens I really enjoyed it.

I liked the convenience of the location. My family and I was in Athens for daughter's dance competition. Due to schedule of daughter's dances, I had to change my checkin date. Although I wasn't "penalized ", It felt like I was penalized when I was billed an enormous weekend rate. I understand policies, but I didn't like the fact that no one told, text, or sent confirmation of the new room rate to me which would have given me the option to decide whether/ not I would accept the new rate. I was very shocked to get my bill for $473 upon checkout and to be told that since I changed my checkiin date, the new reservation was billed for the going weekend rate. If I was made aware ahead of time, I would have sought out other alternatives. I typically like staying at Homewood Suites, but I was really displeased with how this was handled. Secondly, the address on the billing statement is NOT my address. As a Hilton honors member, I want to get credit for my stay, but even more importantly is the PRIVACY of someone's personal information. I gave this a 3 rating as opposed to 4 due to the handling of my reservations & privacy concerns. Thank you for the opportunity to share my concerns.

Stayed there for a family reunion , really nice hotel with a great breakfast

Wendy Frasier, whom works at the front desk, gave out our room innformation to a complete stranger on purpose. This person then proceeded to call up to our hotel room phone at 10pm. When we called Hilton's customer service line to complain, she proceeded to harass us by calling us not one but 2 times AFTER 11:30pm to ask us if we wanted to leave! This was outrageous as it was close to midnight and we have a young child and were from out of town for her VERY EARLY violin performance the following day. This experience, along with the other events that followed, made us feel very unsafe amd disregarded. If you care for the privacy and safety of your family, please do not stay at this location.
