The staff was very nice, but the surroundings were very disappointing. Nothing to buy to eat or drink, very few tables so very little chance to get a table for your dinner. We got a room for four but an extremely small table and two chairs. There is a patio outside the room but again no tables to sit.
The water is full of oil, so it felt very dirty to swim. I wanted the kids to learn how to snorkel before going on a bigger snorkeling trip, but the area where our kids could swim and snorkel were occupied by people fishing. If you come for fishing it’s perfect. As a family not very convenient.

This spot has kept the same private family beach atmosphere as the original Stone Ledge Motel.
Having spent 47 years returning to the Keys, all I'd ask of the Drift would be for a more friendly staff, make some essential repairs, and upgrade some of the accomodations.
Regardless, we will be happy to return.

Very friendly staff. They gave us a list of nearby restaurants, beach towels, parking pass etc. Clean and cozy room. Def recommend the suite by the beach. Beautiful view, full fridge/kitchen, plenty of room & more. Beach has a bbq, lounge chairs, pier & gorgeous view. I saw a review prior stating shower has no curtain- it is not supposed to. We loved the shower! Also saw a complaint about paying for ice. U can go to dollar tree and buy cube trays as we did- problem solved. Many stores & restaurants close by. Some insects & baby lizard in our room we expected. It's FL & by the beach..enjoy nature! Def recommend & would return!!

Spotlessly clean room and bath! Bright white linens and towels. Comfy beds. Only improvement I can suggest is waterproof cushioning on the dinette chairs as they are solid steel and not comfortable. Staff are genuinely friendly and eager to help. Great value for the dollar especially when considering they have paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling gear for you to use. I will absolutely be back here with my family.

Drift hotel is now going to be a place me and my family stay in whenever we go to the keys. The staff is super friendly even gave dining recommendations to us when we asked what their favorite places were. Private beach open 24/7, kayaks available for use, paddle board, and snorkeling equipment for their guests. This was the most relaxing and peaceful trip I have ever taken.

I had a wonderful time at the Drift Hotel in Key Largo! The location with its private beach was perfect, and the rooms were beautifully decorated. Although there were some large families during our last stay who were a bit loud and didn't respect the quietness, the overall experience was still enjoyable. The only downside was the receptionist, who could have been more welcoming. Despite that, I'd still recommend the Drift Hotel for a relaxing vacation!

I checked in on a Saturday afternoon. I had to wait about an hour but it was still before the regular check-in time of 4p. The place is ok, just ok. The bathroom is tiny. The shower area is nice. There are no tissues in the place. Also no kitchen towel or paper towels even though they have a bar sink. The king size bed was in need of turning. When I moved toward the middle it was like going uphill. I was in room 4, in case the Drift reads this. There is no peephole in the door. The keys are old fashioned, no plastic key cards. I even forgot the key in the lock one night. Luckily I had engaged the deadbolt but the next day when I went looking for the key I said maybe I'd better check outside and sure enough there it was in the lock.
There is a nice pier where you can relax. The place has to be 60 years old if it is a day. It could use a deep cleaning, top to bottom. The TV was weird. You could not get regular world news tonight programs. Or I could not find them.
The staff was pleasant. Next door is a dilapidated trailer park which looks like "Sanford and Sons".
The table and chairs looked like they belonged to a child. No padding whatsoever on the chairs. I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a rug to cushion my tush. There was only one bedside table. I was alone but if there was another person they would not have had a lamp to read by in bed.
