Courtyard by Marriott DeLand Historic Downtown

The property is walking distance to so many small businesses that we considered a gem. The food was great and so were the drinks. We really enjoyed our stay. The only con was that some kids pulled the fire alarm in the middle of the night and caused an inconvenience to all of the guest and the parking is limited with a full hotel so if the hotel is sold out be ready for a good walk up. Overall very satisfied

I was very disappointed, especially with this being in the Marriott family. I travel all the time, so this isn't a 1 off review, and as a business owner I really hate to leave negative reviews. The bed was old and worn out. The room was dated, no big deal, but the mold in the shower, and the very slippery shower floor from soap scum was gross. No breakfast, not a shock after covid. There was a Starbucks downstairs that is very lacking. Worse part is I had to pay for the burnt hotel carafe coffee that is typically complementary. I booked another room for my son, asked for adjoining if possible, or at least on the same floor. They were put on a different floor. Again, non of these things on there own are horrible, but everything combined made for a disappointment.

The biggest concern was the power went out very quickly due to the storm, which I understand but my room was leaking water. We could not see in the room and no assistance was provided. We couldn't open the windows or get air into the room and I was staying in the room with 2 young children.

Prooerty was well maintained and extremly clean . Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recomend to all my friends and family . I will def book here on my next trio
