This property was great for our family vacation. The king suite was beyond spacious and nicely furnished. Our son got his own room and loved having a space of his own. Our room also had a balcony with a beach view. We left the door open to the balcony the majority of our stay to hear the waves, it was so relaxing! The property also had a nice pool area and convenient access to the beach.

Overall it’s not a terrible resort but so much opportunity to be an excellent resort. The outside patio areas could just use a good cleaning. Spilled dried drinks are evident on the side of the tables. Seats stained, floors etc. But not horrible just could be better. The room was great. It was clean & comfortable. The exterior paint could use a refresh to another color. The gray looks dreary. Could use better lighting all over. Too dark in the corridors. The lobby had a water cooler with lemon water but had not been changed in a long time as the lemon was rotten in the water. Thank goodness I tasted a little but spit it out before a kid drank it. I told them and they removed it but never replaced it the whole time we were there. That was just something overlooked and neglected. They are right on the beach and it was great. Sectioned off area for the guests was nice. Umbrellas and chairs available at extra cost. The restaurant was very good. I enjoyed the food and we ate there multiple times. Definitely pricey but you’re paying for convenience. If you don’t mind the extra cost it’s worth it. Good service and very nice people. I suggest they add an open case refrigerator for drinks, milk, juice, snacks, candy etc. There is nothing local and you have to drive or walk over a mile to get anything so if they bring the basic necessities to the guest they could make some money and fill a need for the guest. Remove the business center and add the mini mart.

Great deal, great location (right on a private beach) and overall clean! Although there were not very many staff working, each were very helpful when asked for something. Pool area was great (other than parents leaving their young children at pool unattended often). I would not recommend the pool area if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time (Again, due to unattended children) yet we still had a great time and the beach area is nice. There is a restaurant there and the coffee the made was good (for a charge). The rooms have really nice espresso machines w expresso refills provided (LaVazza). Bring creamer! I highly recommend bringing in your own groceries upon arrival for the refrigerator and microwave in each room bc there are no stores to walk to close by. Tip: refill your water bottles on the second floor next to the gym. The hotel lobby had jars of water with fruit in it, but it was rarely fresh and often lukewarm or empty. Overall, we had a great time and would stay there again.

We had a lovely stay with my husband and three children ages 6, 4, and 2. Beach was right there and we had all our meals at the restaurant at site. We walked two times (stay was 6 nights) to the Deerfield Pier area (one by sidewalk and boardwalk and other one by sand). Very lovely beaches.

The most worst service! I made a special request for my honeymoon, received confirmation via email, when I arrived at the property nothing had been prepared. The valet park is horrible, the family that works there just stays on the phone and doesn't even offer to get a cart for our bags. The cleaning service, in addition to being scheduled, did not come to my room because someone was missing and I could not be attended to. I asked if I could replenish the water in the lobby and the attendant asked me for 30 minutes as there was no one available. The restaurant cannot include your room charges. The pool has dirt scum. In short, a nightmare that I never want to go through again with this low-level network. there is no care, no gratitude, no care for the customer!

Great value for the price as a boutique hotel. Friendly for families with kids and a simple breakfast included every morning. It’s nice that’s it’s directly on the beach. Yes, you need to be there around 9am to catch a decent breakfast and get help for a sun umbrella service or beach towels, but not a big deal.

The location of this hotel is very good, however, I do have some notes. One, we got a room with two beds for family, but when we got there they didn’t have the room. Instead they gave us a room with one bed, and then gave us a whole other room on another floor. Secondly, the old lady at the front desk of the restaurant refused to give me a plastic fork. That was pretty uncalled for. But the other staff were very nice, the valet was amazing, the staff who helped us with chairs, waiters, they were all great. Brazilian front desk guy was especially memorable.

There is nothing to do around this hotel. You have to drive at least 2 miles to get to any kind of restaurant (Deerfield Beach) and even there there’s not much. The hotel is tiny!!! I’ve never stayed in a room so small. My bedrooms in my house are bigger! Bathroom is small and the lighting in the room is horrendous. It is super loud! People slam doors, yell down the halls and their kids scream at the pool all day. Because it’s such a small place you can literally hear people by the pool when you’re outside of your room 3 floors up. Seems like they don’t have enough staff. Trash cans were constantly overflowing and were the same way the next morning. Pool towels are always gone and never restocked. Continental breakfast is a joke. Juice thats always needing to be refilled and crappy bagels that get stuck in the toaster. They have better continental breakfasts at any cheap hotel I’ve ever been to. Dining room is tiny. For breakfast they move one table out of the way, I hit my head multiple times on the hanging lamp that was suppose to be above the table. Pictures online are super deceiving. They show some kind of ice cream bar place. It’s not there, it’s 2 miles away in Deerfield beach. They show a bar with a flight of craft beer. There was a tiny bar which I never saw anyone at serving any kind of drinks. The pool is small! My pool at home is bigger than theirs. Any home inground pool is bigger than theirs! Beach area is also tiny. Definitely won’t be back.

I've stayed here twice. Once last year in March 2023 under the old ownership (Hillsboro Beach Resort) and just now again this past weekend (Feb 2024) with Sonder's new management and it remains one of my favorite resorts in Florida! Hands Down. There's not too many hotels that are literally on the beach like this. No crossing the street or having to walk through some long path. It's legit steps away from the property. If you're looking for a quiet chill beach getaway this is the spot for you. They are a little short staffed so you need to be a bit understanding with the beach attendant situation requesting umbrella's and requesting drinks, etc. The entire stay I personally didn't have any problems whatsoever with this. You simply have to ask and you will get what you request. The one time they were out of towels, I simply asked front desk and new one's were brought out instantly. The value is unbeatable for the price. Remember all other beach hotels like this in Florida at this level are going for almost double the rate. You get what you pay for. If you want a beach that's a giant party with people popping bottles left and right and blasting music then this is not be best place for you. Go to Miami instead. For families, couples, or people just looking for a low key chill beach getaway then this is the place to be. Deerfield beach is right there with Bars, Restaurants, etc. The hotel itself is secluded which is on purpose as it's the only hotel on the Private Beach.

Four and a half out of five stars just be clear on what you and your group need! I traveled with my husband and 2 of our children age 19 and 17. My goal was to find accommodations with a bedroom for my spouse and me plus separate beds for our young adults. Our stay was 4 days over the holiday therefore I also wanted a fridge and microwave. Other requirements included a beachfront location and balcony with ocean views. The Hillsboro powered by Sonder checked those boxes. ACCOMMODATIONS The kitchenette included a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot with pods, and paper towels but don’t expect plates, bowls, or silverware. The fact that those items aren’t included and it’s not clearly stated was frustrating. Also the entrance to our room and most others were on the exterior of the building. This made it feel a little like a motel but it allows the property to blend in to surrounding Hillsboro community which as the only hotel in town is important. LOCATION Don’t expect to mix and mingle at a lively bar downstairs or to find eateries directly around the hotel. The area is residential! The direct beach access was fabulous and most mornings I had the beach to myself to watch the sunrise. The beach was never crowded and it felt very exclusive which I appreciated. We went to relax, decompress, and spend time as a family so The Hillsboro powered by Sonder worked for us and I would consider revisiting.
