HYATT house Shelton

7/3/24 to 7/9/24. We are a senior couple . Husband is on oxygen 24 hrs a day , and a lot of meds. I’m very hard of hearing . We ere in Ct to visit family. Before it’s too late. 1st night rm 217 was musty. Both windows were clouded up due to gas seal broken. Could not see a thing . Set up O2 machine and breathing treatment machine. Put the bag with all medical/ medications in the area where the closest and sink are. Next day the commode was rushed and cam up the sink drain , all over clothes and of course our medical bag. All meds had to be thrown out. My brand new hearing aids were also in the med bag. I was at the pool when this happened. No one of the staff came up. The maintenance men said all room on the vertical line had same issue. I had to ask for a new room. No management came to talk to us regarding the sewer backup. I asked the PM manager when we would be filling out an incident report. His reply “ we only do that when someone is injured “. I said or if property is damaged ie room rug and my hearing aids. He said I don’t know. Now hear it is three weeks later. Still heard nothing. But the will be hearing from me.

Family gathering in order to bury a family member. One night stay, but rooms were great, comfortable and will stay again.

Nice stay. Chose this hotel for the indoor pool and hot tub. Didn’t know there would be multiple families with tons of kids splashing all weekend but that was no fault of the hotel! 😄 Very clean. Comfortable beds. Room needs updating with more USB ports like most hotels.

Everything was okay with the room, the only things I would say they can improve on is the cleaning for sure and how friendly the staff is. I feel they also should pay attention to the pool area because there were young kids unattended by an adult and it was extremely loud.

We stayed the weekend for a dance competition for my daughter. We booked a King Suite and really liked the room. The two kids took the Queen sofa bed and my husband and I took the King bed. The room itself was spacious and I liked the little kitchenette area. Service was great and they came up right away when we requested additional pillows and blankets for the sofa bed as none were provided. The thing I didn’t like here was the paid parking. Perhaps I didn’t see it prior to booking, but I was surprised by this at check in. Furthermore, you pay $10 per day from the time you check in until the time you leave, but if you can’t check in until at least 4 and need to be out by noon, that’s a lot of hours that you’re paying for but are unable to use. I’d suggest adding an hourly rate rather than a day rate as this would be most efficient for the guests.

Quick one night stay king size bed big and comfy, pull out couch was awful as mattress was very thin. Pool was busy and loud , hot tub way to much chemical , actually cause my kid to have an asthma attack

Check in was smooth and staff was professional the facilities such as the pool was over crowded with an unattractive amount of children present lt was loud and rowdy and at one point there was an unacceptable oversized floaty that took over the pool. My partner and i left the area due to the obscene amount of people and children only to return to less chaos. We were also awakened at 3am to loud music and obnoxious talking and noise which opted me to contact the front desk staff twice at 3am and 4am. It was the worst experience i ever had during a hotel stay. Hence to why i would not book with the Hyatt House again.....

I booked 4 rooms for my family to enjoy time away from home enjoy pool and celebrate sons 3rd birthday prior to check in spoke to guest service about having pizza in lounge and cutting cake for my son they said that was absolutely fine I just have to supply my own utensils, then when I did it, they complained to me saying that it was unacceptable/not allowed and told me I had certain amount of time to finish and disperse, feel embarrassed like I never told him in the first place my group was very respectful and clean

Great place and very convenient to everything! Only issue i had was with the pool, there was so many kids without adult supervision and very loud!
