Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford-Farmington

Upon arrival the room wasn't ready. My adult children had their own room which was infested with bed bugs. Now for breakfast the service needed improvement. The pre made omelets where mixed. The omelets that were made with meat was not separate from the meatless omelets. The sausages were in the same warmer with the potatoes. Food service was poor.

When we have family business in the area, we always stay at Homewood Suits; it's convenient and very user-friendly.

Prefect place for family

Pros: Easy to locate. Bed was comfortable. Hot breakfast wasn’t bad. Cons: Indoor pool- not heated. Air/heating system had the rooms so dry. One child woke with bloody nose all of us woke coughing every night we were there. Dust covered vent in room. Toilet constantly ran. Toilet also had to have chain re attached to flush handle every morning. Sheet on pull out couch was disgusting. We changed that and with new sheets. Two TVs one remote. Bathroom wasn’t super clean neither was sleeping area. Dust, stains, smears on mirror.

Overall it was a great place to stay and we would stay there again. Breakfast was great and while we never ate at the free dinner buffet it looked more than enough if you didn't want to go out. The only problem was when we asked for things. We needed a crib for our child - I mentioned it right after I booked the room, mentioned it a few weeks after that, mentioned it after we arrived, reminded them before we went to dinner, and finally after coming back from dinner I had to tell the person at the front desk I would wait there until she found one and brought it to me. Since there were four of us we needed extra towels and we asked a few times over our four days there - not once did we get them, we had to go looking for them every time. Lastly, we think we left something in the room, I called to see if it was there and despite promises I would be called back, no one ever did, I finally called and spoke to the right person three days later.

This was a nice hotel;. Very convenient to West Hartford and right by UCONN Med Center. The continental breakfast was convenient and we were surprised to have a complimentary dinner on our first night there. The indoor pool was great. Loved the kitchen in the suite. The rooms could use some upgrading, though. Older styled decor and colors. Only 1 remote for both TVs, and only 2 kids channels, and nothing suitable for them at night.

Loved this hotel. All rooms have separate living and sleeping rooms which allowed our children to sleep while we were still in the room. It addition to a hot complimentary breakfast, there is also a very good hot comp dinner on the wk days. The service was incredibly friendly too! I will definitely stay here again.
