Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Fountain North

I really wish I could give a good review of this hotel, but there were just far too many disappointments with this property, unfortunately. I’ll start with the positive notes: the location is ideally situated right off I-25, next door to a Loves travel station, and backs to the Fountain Creek Regional Park. You’ll need to drive to get to the park entrance, but we really enjoyed our morning walk along the pond and the creek. It’s also close to lots of dining options about 5-10 minutes away. The room was clean and had a nice view of the park (see in attached pictures). Now for the negative points: there are no king bed rooms in this hotel, so having to sleep in a queen bed with my husband wasn’t the most comfortable since we’re used to having more space. There were lights in the room that didn’t work. There was a large biker group staying at this hotel all weekend and they fired up their bikes early in the morning and came back in the middle of the night, so it was always so noisy when we were trying to sleep. At check out, we overheard a woman complaining about the bikers to the front desk saying how unsafe they made her feel since she was next door to one of them who was cursing and banging on furniture/walls all night long and since she was staying there with her two young grandchildren, she was frightened and nearly called the police, but feared retaliation if they figured out who called. Walls are extremely thin. I can hear people next to me talking in a normal voice…Even with my TV on. The coffee pot has dust on it, the window has kid fingerprints smudges on it, there are no tissues, there is no toilet paper, the roll that is on there is almost gone. The sheets on the bed look like they are stained with either laundry soap or something gross. Printer does not work or is not hooked to the computers, they offered to print for me, but I am not going to email them my personal work documents. The guy in the room next to me has been sneezing for the past 1.5hrs, constantly. I feel I should run and get him some allergy medicine. Staff is friendly, but place is pretty gross and walls are way too thin!!

Our son and grandkids live close by so we have stayed here several times. They are pet friendly and have great walking places near the hotel. Plus the Mountain Views-so great! The breakfast is just so so but the staff is great.

We had a family crisis with my father in law admitted to the hospital. We asked to cut the last day of our stay off. The manager agreed to refund the cost of the last day if Expedia agreed. Expedia tried 5 days to contact the hotel but the phone was answered and hung up multiple times. If they did not want to allow the refund, they should have said no. We could have let 1 of the wedding guests stay overnight in that room. As it was, we were denied the refund. Liars. Also the room had 2 beds but there was no room to put our 2 suitcases anywhere but the floor. Even if they supplied suitcase racks, there was no room to put them. The sink was just a sink, no counter for any items. The toilet seat was loose and kept slipping off bowl. The rooms had thin walls. We heard everything the next room occupants said. Husband has a wheat allergy. There was only hard boiled eggs for him to eat at the breakfast bar.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by friendly employees, and just looking at the lobby was a nice indication that my room was going to be clean. I was not disappointed. Well kept property and great service. I would recommend to my family and friends, and will stay again without hesitation.

This hotel was very close to where my family lives. However there is nothing else near-by. It sits right next to the noisy freeway and next door to a service station. The staff was very nice and the hotel generally well kept.

It was clean but would have liked to have had 2 chairs in room that were more comfortable Only one hard chair. Bed was comfortable mobility unit was the farthest from elevator which seemed strange staff was very friendly. Close to our children but otherwise would not go there again.
