Property is dated, poorly lit. It is overall charming but the towels, baby crib, and other items we used were all dirty.

This hotel is like visiting that family member who is sweet, but doesn't have a lot of money, so things are clean, but worn and sometimes iffy. But the people are kind, and honest, and try to do the best they have with what they have, and appear to be doing it themselves on a tight budget. GOOD: Price. This was an affordable hotel that is family friendly. Staff. They are honest and kind. Location. Perfect. It was here in 1954 after all. Breakfast: They do nicely here and add some personality. BAD: In Aspen, everything costs double compared to Denver. Accept this fact and the math works. This is not a lot of value for your money "generally" - it's a value in "Aspen". Noise. The walls are super thin. You here every door close in the entire facility. Every toilet flush. Every vigorous conversation. No extras. You get zero extras in your room. Not even a bottle of water. Safety. Except for the 4th floor, this is a motel with easy external access to most rooms with a good shove - but good news, everyone will hear the altercation and call for help. UGLY: First - this hotel is across the street from the St.Regis. It's like parking a 1960 VW Bug next to a Bentley. It's just really unfortunate, but it hits you as you walk in. Finding the front desk, and the parking, was like solving a maze. I thought I was going to be asked a riddle by a troll to find out where to park. They left the abandoned heating system in place. The whole place to stitched together and some of it need serious
