This was my first time staying here and I was quite pleased as I was just looking to get away by myself and simply do nothing. The rooms are a bit rundown, but after all it is an inn and Agai I was comfortable. I didn’t book my stay because of the rooms I booked it because of the beautiful Oh my God, so tired of answering to machines surrounding area, the ocean, the pool, the spectacular view.
I knew it was a family friendly facility however Friday seems to be the night that families with oodles of kids come Saturday and Sunday in so next year when I stay, it’ll be Monday through Thursday. It just got too busy Kids are just too noisy

My husband and I came across this property as we were trying to look for an overnight stay for our anniversary and what really caught my attention was the price for a beachfront view! All the other properties we looked into in the Santa Barbara area was almost double the price. And if you’re okay with an outdated building/room but with the most spectacular beach view with listening to the waves crashing in the nighttime, then look no further! Yes, we were hesitant in the beginning because the rooms are a bit outdated, but with the inspection I do in every hotel room that we step into, it was very clean! Room 11 is on the 2nd floor ( upgraded from a standard room) , with a King Twin bed, if you’re traveling with little ones and the room window looking out into the ocean was worth every penny ( to upgrade, roughly $100 ).
Pros:
-The young gentleman checking us in was very friendly, housekeeping staff as well
-Continental breakfast from 7:30am-10am for their guests
- Clean rooms
-Breathtaking view
Cons:
- Limited parking
-Restrooms in the room was
outdated but clean
-You can ONLY hop on 101South from the property and get off next exit just to hop back on to 101North to head into Santa Barbara or anywhere in that direction.
-You can hear the footsteps of other guests that is on the same floor as your room.
Would definitely book again in the near future !

Had an absolutely awful stay in this place, booked for 3 nights left after 1 it was that bad. Where do I start….old, dirty rooms with paint peeling off the furniture and tatty bed linen, unclean bathroom, a noisy highway, a breakfast offering that looked like something from a campsite with some options gone by that time I got there, seagulls that swoop in to eat your food if your outside and spending a night next door to screaming kids and a family arguing. Put all this to the hotel management and requested a refund, they had the cheek to dismiss all these issues, claim that there are no problems with this place and refuse to offer any amicable solution given I spent over £650 to stay there. Is that how you treat an international traveller. They clearly mis-advertise themselves as a 3* hotel, they are not even 2*. People are free to make their own decisions but my advice would be to avoid, absolutely awful place.

This hotel has the most spectacular views. Just breathtaking. The sounds of the ocean help you sleep like a baby. We cannot get over how amazing the views are and would definitely come back to stay here. The rooms are pretty clean and are comfortable, but the walls have cracks and chips in them, the curtains have rust on them, bad paint job on the walls and moldings. The staff in nice and quickly respond to text communications. The view and all the tropical landscaping makes up for all the little mishaps. Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Amazing views. Clean and quiet. Perfect for a low key romantic get away. I would come back here with only my husband but we still had a great time with our 3 babies (under 4). My little felt like she was in Hawaii lol. Also it was very nice that we were upgraded to the larger room. The jet tub was awesome! The felt like they hay their own private pool. We also appreciated the upgrade to the full breakfast. The restaurant staff was semi friendly but the reception staff was excellent. Overall very happy with our stay. Only thing to keep in mind is besides the restaurant on site all other dinning and shops are at least 15i-20minutes away.

I did enjoy the ability to be in the pool and over see the ocean. Including being able to sleep with the sounds of the ocean, because the walls were a bit thin. I could hear the next door guest snore ALL night. The customer service was pleasing and attentive. I did not step inside the shower because it did not look clean. The room I stayed in, needs a little paint and extra cleaning and new shades. I wish this establishment had a no children days or stays. I was not able to enjoy the stay outside my room, because I kept getting hit by a ball they were playing in the pool.

Beautiful views from all rooms out over the Pacific ocean. A bit older of a building but well maintained. Slept like a baby with the windows open listening to the waves hit the rocks below.

Cliff House Inn on the Ocean has wonderful views of the ocean. The Inn itself is charming, not new or fancy but charming. The pool is great and the food is wonderful.
Our family from 7 to 70 enjoyed Cliff House Inn on the Ocean. Wish we could have stayed longer.

What a beautiful beach hotel! Was only here for one night, but definitely want to go back longer! Every room has a beautiful ocean view and hearing the waves crashing at night with window open was a nice bonus! Slept like a baby! The property is well kept and very clean. We arrived late due to weather, but the front desk receptionist texted me to give instructions on our arrival. Very friendly & helpful! The hotel is right off the freeway, so easy to find. Our room was cozy and had nice amenities. The morning breakfast room had a variety of items to choose from and sitting outside with a beautiful CA coastal view was a perfect way to begin our day! Loved this property!
