Stayed here with our family of 5 in a suite. It was like a house rather than a Hotel, in fact it was a period house the hotel had joined on the back. Loads of room, and although we have to cycle through the one bathroom it was worth it. Full kitchen and utensils and nice period furniture. Was clean and was not musty at all which was pretty surprising. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and there is handy unloading area out front, and parking for $34 a day over the road. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay over Easter Weekend. Convenient to family who lives near by. One very small complaint though. The 1/2 &1/2 creamer was spoiled for our coffee. They need to keep it on ice. Had to throw out 3 cups of coffee because of spoilage.

We stayed at a family suite; the rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was decent. However, our suite faced Waller Street, not the park, and there was a big construction site on Waller Street. I was disappointed; I booked Stanyan Park because it was right across the street from Golden Gate Park, but I could see was the construction site. The building is old, so we could hear steps upstairs and the talking next door. The toilet could not fill the water tank by itself, so we had to prepare a bucket of water to fill the tank.

This hotel was great. I got the family suite so my friends and I had a living room to hang out. Free wine at checkin, and little goody bags were in my room. It had all the amenities for a comfortable stay and then some. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed for one night and wish we’d booked for longer. We stayed in the suite with our two children and the space was huge and great to spread out after 1 month abroad together.
A couple of negatives- the staff were not overly friendly or helpful. We checked in on time and then headed into town. The reception staff did not inform us of the afternoon tea and drinks which are complimentary each afternoon. We’d have loved to make the most of that with the price we paid for the night.
Also- there is a high construction site next door.
They start work at 6am and it is SO loud. They’re was no compensation or price decrease for this. There should have been.
We also noticed all the single use plastic at breakfast which was really disappointing to see.
Besides that, we would stay here again- as long as construction has finished, and very much enjoyed our stay.

Clean rooms, room was very small but not bad, breakfast was basic but was fair. Whole Foods was very close to the hotel. No parking we had to park about a block away. There was something that really bothered me & I felt like I needed to bring up, i know SF houses/hotels are so small but I do wanna say I wish people can be more considerate that children are around, 9pm and my kids began to here loud women moaning noise, in embarrassment of how I felt of not being about to cover their ears or explain, I didn’t know what to do I just felt so mad to have to experience that on our first day staying in the hotel. Beside that bad uncomfortable night, everything was good!

Stanyan Park Hotel was a nice place to stay on our family trip to San Francisco. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed. It was a great place for a family get away near the park.

This place is a rare find. It is a charming historic building within walking distance of good restaurants. The suite we booked was huge and had a sitting room, dining room, full kitchen and bay window view. Unfortunately the view right now is of a high-rise construction project that created a lot of noise from about 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. I'd still stay there again (using the earplugs offered by the front desk). The staff was great. They can't do anything about a high-rise being built and did everything they could to mitigate the noise. It was perfect for an adult family vacation.

This is a lovely and unique historic hotel that is well cared for and comfortable. Beautifully furnished with period pieces. The location is incredible- right where golden gate panhandle ends and the park begins. We stayed 3 nights in the 2 bedroom suite and it was enormous! Two good sized bedrooms, large living room with a pull-out sofa (not super comfortable). Two tvs. There was also a huge formal dining room! and a very serviceable and clean kitchen (micro, keurig, toaster, etc). Whole Foods one block away. We had a view of the park as well. They offer complementary wine for 1 hour in the evening, which we were unable to attend. The staff were friendly as well. Only cons- sofa bed, as I mentioned, and breakfast was pretty simple.
Would highly recommend this hotel, especially for a family or group of friends
