We wanted to try staying in a casita. To start, the mattress was good but we only 2 small pillows each for a king size bed. The bathroom- where to start? While the Mexican style tile was pretty, you had to actually step into the shower stall to close/open the door to use the toilet. the re was ONE small shelf, for soap. We actually went to the local dollar store and bought suction cup hooks and aplastic basket to make our own shower caddy and have hooks to hang our towels to dry. The restaurant was okay, Mexican fare, but the menu was only a photo copied sheet with so many spelling errors it was like reading code! Breakfast was blah, same every single day. The courtyard in the middle was very pretty, lush and green you would never know you were in Arizona. Pool was nice, needs some care, a few cracked tiles one set of stairs broken. They need to put in a kiddie pool, there is huge empty patio area that would be perfect because parents obviously cannot read when signs clearly state no children under 12 in the hot tub! While it was an experience, would not stay here again or recommend it, should have known when I saw later this was Choice Hotel property, we've never had great experiences at some of their other properties.

My family and I were there this past weekend 3/22-3/24 and we felt rather disappointed in our stay there. We booked through Hotels.com because of the overall score and the photos but those are deceiving. The lady at the front desk was not very accommodating. Said we booked an accessibility room even though on our reservation it showed balcony and provided little help on switching rooms. The Queen beds are more like full size and stiffer than a board. Very uncomfortable to sleep on. Breakfast was decent but their bar at Gringos was limited. My wife had to ask for 4 different drinks because they didn't have any the stuff needed to make 3 of them. Overall we were left disappointed with our stay. Oh also not mentioned is their $20 charge a day for breakfast which is nowhere included on any booking sites.

Food was limited and overcooked. Wouldn’t bring family in to eat as advertised. Bar was limited because it was out of supplies or soda was flat.
Room service started out great then slacked off to non existent, we had to ask for service after returning at the end of the day.

Excellent place to stay for family reunion. Beautiful property, clean rooms and pool with a Mountain View. Staff very friendly and accommodating and food is good at restaurant. Margaritas are the best in Tucson!

Our family needed a hotel because our A/C unit went out and our home was unbearably hot. La Posada was a perfect little staycation for us and we loved our room. The beds were very comfortable. We only have one small critique is that the pool is gorgeous and heated but the heating made the water too warm to enjoy fully on a super hot day. The temperature of the pool was the same as the hot tub. We were told it was a system glitch that didn’t adjust the temp but we worked through it and still had fun. Besides that, we had a great stay.

Location and what it appeared it would be like were good.
The inability to for full the reservation was a very big downside. Expecting the double queen room booked over a month ago to be given a single room Casita with a hide a bed that was a complete fail for sleeping. To be told that getting that room was a upgrade over the room I wanted doesn't matter since it did not take care of the needs of the group. 2 adults and two kids and half of the group is left sleeping on a very uncomfortable hide a bed doesn't make for a good stay. The wifi in the Casitas is no existent since the wifi is only in the main building.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night with our 3 children. The hotel does not look like it does online. The patio furniture by the pool is falling apart and around pool is dirty. Towels are not stocked. The rooms are not clean. The phone did not work at all. Since we were staying one night only the easy access to food with small kids was the draw for us. We hate having to leave hotels to eat with the kids. There is a banner as you drive up that says you can get food poolside but no idea how that would happen. We went into the restaurant for dinner and were told to seat ourselves. We waited 15 min before having to ask someone for a menu. They said sorry and would send someone over. 10 more minutes and no one came to our table. 3 staff members looked at us and ignored us. Other tables were being served. So bizarre I have never experienced anything like it. We have a toddler and couldn’t wait any longer. We got up and walked out. Had to drive to eat somewhere else. The breakfast was like a ghost town. NO ONE was working. No breakfast meat at all. Eggs weren’t being replenished. Front desk staff was so rude. Will not be back.

It was absolutely beautiful! Took the kids on a little vacation before going back to school and spent majority of the time swimming. Rooms were spacious and super comfortable. The continental breakfast was delicious and our favorite was the brisket!

My kids and I had a great time. We loved the pool and the view from out balcony was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was great and I loved the endless Mimosas.
