Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tuscumbia/Muscle Shoals

Microtel Inn and Suites is where my family and I always stay when we come into town. Its convenient and easy accessible off the highway. Staff is friendly and breakfast is always readily available.

Excellent hotel, will highly recommend it to family and friends

I believe in giving praise where praise is due. I want to express my deep gratitude to Shawna, the General Manager. She went the "extra mile" to make our visit comfortable and enjoyable. When we checked in on Wednesday, the clerk on duty mistakenly told us that this facility did not have "adjoining rooms". Our daughter and her three children were scheduled to check in the following day. Shawna was on duty the following day and I mentioned that to her. She told me that they DID have adjoining rooms and made arrangements for us to change rooms that day so that our daughter and her children could occupy the adjoining room. My husband is an avid coffee drinker and I inquired about any coffeemakers that might be available for me to perk more than one cup at a time. She located a brand new 4-cup coffeemaker that she let me use until we checked out on Saturday! Well done, Ms. Shawna!!!

We tried to look passed the construction with a roof being repaired and the elevator shut down, but our 4th floor room has been smoked in (I'm allergic and swelled up like a blimp while itching like I was blanketed by poison ivy), the bathtub kept dripping, and the a.c could not be turned off without the heater automatically turning on. When I called to see if we could check in early we were advised that they were short staffed and that our 3:00 check-in would be more like 3:30-4ish. The staff present were kind, but you could tell they were overwhelmed and everyone knew the hotel was not ready to be occupied. The parking lot had everything from a bean dip jar to chewed gum. I was not impressed and our family plans to never stay at this nor any other Microtel Hotel again. I understand that construction happens and businesses need to keep open to be prosperous , but turning my children into ice cubes and having to listen to the constant dripping while staring sleeplessly at the cracks runningdown the wall and the stain filled curtains was not a pleasant time for anyone. We were all so exhausted that we were unable to enjoy our time in Tuscumbia and just chose to drive the four hours home so we could crash and be productive human beings. My ten year old rates it as a 2 out of 10 because it atleast had beds and no roaches. I am highly disappointed.

Elevator was not working so it was a real inconvenience with grandkids and a bad hip. Clerk stated I didn’t make any special requests but how was I to know elevator was broken.

Window on 3rd floor was open when we got there. No screen on window and child lock would not work. Opened bathroom door and the handle fell off. They said they would give us a credit but at check out they said they could not due to Expedia booking.

We were in one of the larger suite/single bed rooms and it was perfect for two people. The couch would have made a bed if we had any kids with us. The room was clean and in great shape. Would recommend the larger room if more than one person. But it is a MICROtell Hotel so it is expected to be small. Would stay again and probably will next time in the area.

Everyone was very friendly. The breakfast was great. The carpet however needed to be replaced about 10 years ago so bring flip flops to wear in your room. We did find an unopened bag of edibles under our bed. Some may see that as a plus but very scary for people with kids. Overall it was a decent place to stay.

The bed was comfortable the breakfast was excellent the staff was great the only thing I would say was needs changing is the carpet it had stains and had patches in different areas other than that I again and would recommend to my family and friends.would stay there

The front desk was great, the room was clean and nice...all good. The noise was a problem. I am not a light sleeper. At 12 am I was awakened by a loud talking/ laughing person in the hall that went on for a while. After they went on and I fell back to sleep, there were what sounded like kids jumping off the bed onto the floor from the room above me which carried on for a while. Not quite a restful night!
