We were on our "World Tour of Wales" and this was our seventh night.
The welcome was: Warm and efficient
The room was clean and luxurious. A Dolce Gusto coffee machine with pods was provided and the TV has lots of streaming apps. The spa was lovely. he hotel beautiful and is in a great location for Carnarfon town centre, there is a supermarket opposite with restaurants and cinema beyond that.
We didn't have breakfast.
We stayed in ten hotels during our holiday and we rated them like the charts from 10 to 1, where 1 was the best. The prices ranged from £65 to £125. The Celtic Royal Hotel was the second most expensive and came in at No. 2.
Would we return: Yes we would.
Good to know: Local children have swimming lessons, so bear this in mind if you fancy a dip as the lessons reduce the size of the swimmable area.

Good location and clean hotel. However, very noisy room. Lots of noisy kids outside, plus overlooked the bins so lots of seagulls.

Perfectly functional hotel. Some lovely areas but others that let it down. The pool and spa facilities were lovely but we unfortunately seemed to go at time when children’s swimming lessons were taking place. Bar was good and staff in there were super. Food was excellent but let down by the restaurant staff’s poor service which actually put us off eating in the hotel after the first experience. Room was fine but needed some updating and in need of a bit of decoration. Overall the staff were ok and the hotel fine but just not great.

We had a great time at Celtic Royal Hotel. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, especially the reception lady who welcomed us there. She gave us lots of tips about interesting places to visit.
We travelled with our dog and as a result of that we could not eat at the restaurant or bistro. However, our table was set up for us in the lobby. What a bonus! It felt like a private area to just for us. Also, we received a little treat for the dog which was waiting for us in our room.
They have a fantastic swimming pool and gym that has just been renovated! Everything is clean and well maintained. My children loved the pool and my wife enjoyed the gym.
Rooms would benefit from a bit of refresh but they're not bad at all.
The hotel is located very close to all tourist attractions, including Snowdon, Aber Falls, Ugly house, Swallow Falls and many more.
I highly recommend it!

Highly recommend. Staff were lovely, from the ladies at reception to the very polite & chatty young man serving at the bar. Newly renovated bar/restaurant/reading rooms areas had a very warm/cosy feel to them. Family room very clean and spacious - just tiny bit of TLC in places. Excellent (and quiet) location (4 of us - 2 kids who really enjoyed the swimming pool facilities). 5 mins walk to lovely restaurants (TAN wood fired pizza + Ouzo & Olives were lovely.) and 10 mins walk from the Castle. Very handy location to pop over to Anglesey as well.

Great for a family night away, pool was very good and convenient location to walk to the castle. The bar restaurant food is excellent and very child friendly.

Staff were really helpful. Pool was closed for maintenance but was able to take children to local leisure centre for free. Only downside to the stay was the uneven hallways (up and down stairs) which was hard on a disabled guest.

We booked a family room for 3, but everything set up for 2 - like glasses, spare pillows, towels etc. Staff very helpful. Beds not so comfortable- glad I had my travel mattress topper with me. Nice and clean everywhere.
Ate in bar twice - burgers were great. Average prices.
Pool area clean and functional.
Location fabulous, lots of parking areas.

The room was a great size and on entering appeared clean, until you looked down the side of the beds which obviously hadn't been hoovered. We couldn't have been further away from everything which made it a quiet room, not a bad thing! Beds were pretty lumpy and investing in mattress toppers may be a solution! Pool was fun for the kids but the changing rooms really let the 'spa' down. There is ni private changing cubicles you use the showers or toilet (cringe worthy) if you dont want everyone watching you change! Cleanliness is not priority by the looks of it! Overall the hotel was ok with plenty comfy couches to sit & relax. Breakfast is a help yourself buffet, quite limited choices but tasty all the same. For a one or two night stay yes I would recommend. I would have struggled staying longer as the bed has wrecked my back through a lack of support
