Had a great stay. Liked having the water filling station on my floor so we could refill water bottles. Had a family room which was spacious for a family of 3 and clean. Location in Grassmarket was excellent with lots of dining options. Edinburgh is such a walkable city to everything you want to see. Found it pricey, but to be expected given the time of year we stayed. Would stay again.

This property is in an amazing location. It is super comfortable and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The room was ready of us and our child when we arrived with a toy and note. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Great property wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family. One elevator didn’t work properly the entire stay which was a nuisance. It still wasn’t fixed when we left 4 days later and a lot of guests were frustrated by that. Another was we were out late and had the do not disturb sign on the door and at 7 am one of the hotel staff was pounding on our door and hollering to wake us up. Apparently he had the wrong room that was not great.

The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and went above and beyond. The hotel was very clean and our room was cleaned early and well. A nespresso was key in the morning and a nice touch. Plus, kids eat free! Great location and in the center of everything. I highly recommend it.

The VIP Access gives you 3 sparkling and 3 distill water each day and refills on coffee/tea packs plus couple rubber ducky to take home. My stay at Apex was great, quiet with a. Good night sleep, comfy bed and sofa bed. On rainy days, can go to their recreation center for a swim or work out. If traveling with kids, across the street has a deli and pizza . At check out , the taxis are lined up in front. If you are a Harry Potter fan, the cemetery and shops are walking distances. The carnival is also a walking distance, basically Apex is located in an awesome location, the attraction is close by, especially the oink shop, nothing but shredded pork. Yum , will go back to Apex again. The staff are kind and polite. Alastair is the man to talk to, he works a 12 hr shift, seems like he there everyday lol. He will go above and beyond for your needs and make your stay as pleasant as it can be.

Great location but do not stay if you want a good nights sleep. Most rooms have no air conditioning and our blinds let sunshine through which woke our baby and then wouldn’t go back to sleep

My wife, teenage daughter, and I were on holiday here the last bit of June 2022. The rooms were great, clean and well appointed. The Grassmarket location is lively, but not rowdy, and centrally located with beautiful, views of the just-yards-away Edinburgh Castle. This would be enough for an endorsement, but the best part of my family's experience at the Apex City of Edinburgh was the cheerfully helpful staff. We had an issue that was no fault of the hotel, yet the front staff rallied to sort it to best advantage. There may have been others involved, but I certainly owe my gratitude to Lauren, Charlotte-Rose, Rita, Bhumika, Alaisdair, and Daiva.

The location is great, however, the hotel is very bad maintain and furniture is old or damage. There was a full high mirror on a timber frame that was not fixed or secure, this is safety risk specially if you have kids.

We ( a family of three) spent a two day stay at Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel. The location of the hotel is absolutely in the middle of the Old Town at the Grass Market near all you need for restaurants, pubs and major sights. Could not be any better location! The hotel seems slightly worn down though, but it is clean and the staff are friendly. We stayed in a family room with a double bed and a sofa bed. The room was unfortunately very hot, and although it had a cooling fan on all the time, and the window could open slightly, the room was too hot and humid. Not what you could expect from a four star hotel!
