Aldwark Manor Estate

Lovely hotel. Stayed in a family room with a pull out sofa bed. The children said it was a comfortable sofa bed. The food here is very nice. Breakfast was delicious. The famous greatest showman bar was impressive. Really enjoyed my stay there. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but a fan was supplied in the room. The pool area is a bit tired but I believe there is big renovation plan.

Such a lovely family stay

Fantastic hotel in beautiful surroundings. Stayed for 4 nights as a family of 2 adults, 2 children. Fantastic rooms, excellent breakfast and semi formal evening dining. The best of 4 hotels we stayed in on a 12 day uk break.

Whilst this place all in all is gorgeous and done out to a high standard, the whole experience was spoilt due to being made to feel like an untrustworthy customer. We booked an amazing room (the Wensleydale) at an amazing rate through hotels.com and paid for the room at time of booking… However we received a phone call saying the room was in fact not available. What was strange is that each time I spoke to them it showed as unavailable on their site afterwards but appeared back as available within hours. They did put us up in a junior suite (the manor) which was still beautiful so we were still more than happy with our room. We booked in for lunch and a massage each, both were great! However on check-in they took the £100 holding deposit (fine) but then proceeded to make us pay for our lunch and massage up front, which I have never had before. I received an email with a link prior to checkout with the invoice which listed the room to be paid for, as well as some things missing, so we went to reception to settle the bill. The whole thing left a bad taste in our mouths, they queried the room payment, then made it out we should be grateful for what we got for the price we paid, rather than admitting their mistakes. I ensured they added the things they had not charged for but also had to make them print out a fully itemised receipt as it left me feeling like they would find some issue to charge me for later. All in all a very unpleasant experience!

Arguably one of the best countryside breaks hubby and I have had. Trust me We’ve have had many. We decided to have a countryside baby moon and stayed at Aldwark for 3 nights, my God! We were completely blown away and satisfied with the service, staff, professionalism & atmosphere in general. I am over 7 months pregnant and I was treated like royalty. Everyone had a lovely smile, nice vibe &friendly attitude. The receptionist was really helpful- arranged for our bags to be lifted to our room. The room was massive and clean & the bathroom was the perfect size and tidy as well Our breakfast, lunch and dinner experience was so beautiful and above standard. Everything was tasty. Kept waiting for the other shoe drop but never happened. There’s plenty of space to walk around the manor and the view is so beautiful. The pool area was clean and has al the basic amenities. I had a pregnancy massage, which was very relaxing, the masseuse was really attentive and gentle. All in all we had a 5 star experience and will be coming back for another round of relaxation next year. I can’t wait to see the end result of the new spa building coming in 2024. I trust it will be nothing short of the Aldwark standard.
