We spent one night here for a wedding anniversary celebration and very much enjoyed it. The building has plenty of character and pleasant grounds and our room, in the main building, was very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a good choice of cold and hot options cooked to order. The reception staff were welcoming and also very helpful in assisting our children to set up a surprise present for us.

Rooms need an upgrade. We stayed at this hotel which we have known as a family for many years. Rooms were tired and the first room is beside the kitchen extractor Fans so we asked to move. Apparently they get this issue on many occasions we were later told. The other room we were given was small and the double bed was set in an alcove where you could not walk beside the bed. Whilst it was quieter and warm the bed meant we had a poor nights sleep. A renovation could make this hotel special but currently the room as poor standard.

We have previously had afternoon tea at Seckford Hall and thoroughly enjoyed it so we decided to book an overnight stay, however on this occasion we weren’t impressed. We booked a junior suite which was very spacious but very much in need of updating. It also appeared that they were very short of staff and we waited around 15 minutes to order coffee at the bar and when they finally arrived there was a problem with one of them which we waited around another thirty minutes for them to resolve before finally giving up and cancelling the order.

We stayed at Seckford Hall for a family weekend away. We are mixed group of ages with 50/60s, 20s, 30's and one baby. :) The hotel accommodation was perfect. We had room 40 in the courtyard and it was very quiet, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a lovely sitting area, en suite and separate second toilet. We were all allocated rooms within the courtyard area so very close to each other which was great. We had the private dining room on the Friday which was a perfect way for 15 of us to celebrate a birthday and we particularly enjoyed the speaker that had a microphone which meant we could sing along karoaoke style (albeit very badly!) and dance to our hearts were content. We had our own barman for the evening who was lovely, polite and helpful and the food was delicious. The only downside was when a member of staff, possibly a manager, asked us to turn the music down (understandable with the terrible singing to be honest!) but before we could work out which buttons to twiddle he was back and had turned it off. This was a sad and early end to our fun at around 10:30 but we continued by playing cards and games at the table so all was not lost. :) On the Saturday we went into Felixstowe for a wander and then back to the hotel for dinner (again delicious) after which we retired to the bar for a drink and again, the staff were very attentive and polite. All in all a wonderful stay, beautiful grounds around the hotel, and I would highly recommend this hotel.
