Booked in for 2 hours, sat and had lunch hadn’t even put our bags in the room then had a family emergency so could not stay, hotel and hotels.com would not refund us.

Stayed 3 nights while visiting family location was grest for us right o market square and 2 mins to sons house . Great choice for breaky in the private dining room was very quiet so was no waiting for anything cooked breaky made specially for guests and brought to table .had a lovely family meal one night in the pub restaurant aĺso great service even tho was busy. No complaints at all

The Bear had old world charm. Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Good breakfast. Had a very pleasant time. Room was clean, tidy and had all necessary facilities that we required. Stayed for a family function and the food, service and staff were excellent. Would happily stay again.

We travelled from Cornwall for a family party; The Bear were extremely helpful in accommodating both an early check in and late check out which helped with our long drive. Will definitely stay again when we come back to the area.

Had a perfect mini stay at the bear hotel. Would definitely use this as a place to stay again when visiting family in wantage. The room was spacious clean and comfortable, which is all you really need.

It was the perfect place to stay as it was near Grove and all our family were meeting there .. There was a friendly service that was just right as we were visiting at a sad time ,a funeral … The bar and restaurant, so good , and the food delicious.. I would recommend to friends as the atmosphere was what you would hope for in an English `old style’ hotel .
