The family room/s we booked was a good size. It had a double bed and a single bed in one room, and then 2 single beds in another room. The bathroom was a massive wet room that looked like it had been recently fitted. The beds were really comfy. The only thing that let it down a bit was that the family room was on the busy road side of the building. It was on a busy traffic junction, and there was a bar just down the road which was fairly noisy - it was a Friday night though. The kids commented about the noise, but then they are not used to being anywhere noisy (as we live on a quiet street) - they soon went to sleep though.
Breakfast the following morning was lovely, and the staff were really nice.

This is the 3rd year we have stayed here and this year was the worse experience ever. We paid extra for a four poster room. The room was shabby with paint chips on furniture and worn out patches on the carpets. The windows wouldn't close properly and so the noise from the main road was not blocked out. Most annoyingly, the TV was briken and the toilet seat was not fitted correctly causing it to slide off when you sat on it. These last two were reported to staff on the first night, but they did nothing to resolve this for two days, and only after I informed a different member of staff. On the first evening we ate in the bar area and had to listen to a man making a threatening call to someone. He was almost shouting and was swearing to the point that a family moved their children to another area. The three staff who were in the area did nothing to address this.

Breakfast is awful...food been heat up as hotter on outside than inside...sausages were slimy...was concerned about food poisoning as myself and kids had each taken a bite but left it at that...waitresses proudly announced they don't do cappuccino just filter coffee...very 1980's...!!

Booked a standard double room but was “upgraded” to a family room - with 4 beds! One of which was a pull out sofa bed, definitely didn’t need that, only me in the room. Breakfast thought was excellent. Cooked to order, delicious and hot!

It’s a nice older family run hotel that has character. The rooms are comfortable but I found the mattress to be a little too firm for me, maybe the more expensive rooms have softer beds! It has all the basic amenities that you need, tea and coffee, bathrooms gorgeous fluffy towels and showers to die for.
The breakfast is pretty good but unlike others in the area that cost less, it is literally one sausage, bacon, egg, hash brown, beans, mushrooms and tomato. A pot of tea or coffee, juice , cereal, fruit and yoghurt. Toast and jam, honey or marmalade/ marmite.
I like to have a couple of sausages and bacon with eggs and mushrooms but it’s very formulaic. I forgot the black pudding which most apparently miss out.
There are fruit / herbal teas too. I must say it’s all very hot on a very hot plate not so much the toast.
If I have one bug bear it was the electric charge points. The staff are told to park their cars there so if you need to charge your car, you have to get reception to find whoever is parked there to move it before you can.
There’s one fast charger for guests and BP members plus a slow charger that you need the BP fob to use. If you don’t have it then you can’t use the slow charger.
If the fast charger has been iced( petrol car parked in spot) by a hotel guest or gym user then you’re stuck until they move. We tend to pick where we stay because of these sort of amenities and if you can’t charge then there’s not much point staying. Important to electric cars.

All staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, beds comfy and plenty of space for a family. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options available. Pool/health centre were fantastic. Great central location. Would definitely return if visiting Plymouth again in the future. Only issue we came across were the timings of breakfast, room service and bar meals. The folder in the room, reception staff/notices and the hotels website all differed, as did the room service menu which got a bit confusing but other than that it was a perfect stay.

Lovly stay, staff were friendly and helpful, we used the hotel for a family stay as we were going to the pavilion in the evening which is located right next to the hotel, our room was pavilions side but heard minimal noise when people were coming out of the venue when we got back to the hotel after the event finished. The hotel has a pool and gym on site and also a bar and restraint, would come back again.

Great stay, good location and very helpful and friendly staff.
Both our kids are adults now so it gets costly having to book two rooms. This hotel has good sized family rooms with a double bed and two twin beds. This is ideal for families with older/larger children if they are on a budget.
Building appears to be quite old but it is well maintained and well decorated throughout. WiFi coverage is also good throughout the property.
Handy location with the Hoe nearby and the Barbican and Royal William Yard each being about 20 minutes walk away (or £6 in a taxi). It's also a short walk from a couple of nightclubs if you are so inclined.
This place is definitely on our shortlist if we come back to Plymouth in the future.

Booked 2 nights over and can't fault room condition apart from being a family of 2 adults and 2 daugters would have expected 2 separate rooms but apart from this no issue and spotless clean and really nice view. My only complain would have been using swimming pool , water temperature was super cold but sauna and steam room excelent and didn't quite understood why to pay for the carpark since owned by hotel. Had a really good stay , breakfast was excellent all single staff were so helpfull and polite, kind. I would stay again for sure

A bit too much chlorine in the pool but it was nice to have access to a proper toddler pool for our 1.5 year old. Breakfast was better than expected too. A bit of an old hotel but clean.
