The grounds were very nice, not having a restaurant in the beautiful hotel is a minus. With all the lodges, The Blossoms restaurant feels a bit like Butlins, I think for people staying in the hotel without children it would be nice to have a separate restaurant, its not what we expected at all, car parking is very limited as well, which with all the grounds around Rutland more parking is needed. On the whole dissapointing, it just seems to be geared for the masses not couples.

Lovely hotel. Booked last minute due to work. It was very reasonably priced and the hotel was fantastic. Food was good, breakfast excellent, all round a pleasurable stay. I will be going back with the family.

Booked a ‘cosy’ room which was really too cosy for a couple. All facilities were packed into the room but it was really too small. Compensation was that it was clean and heating effective and views were stunning. Disappointed that 5.00 was family time at the pool. Had to go outside for the pool and the restaurant so not ideal for this time of year. Anyone who has mobility problems would find the grounds challenging. Buffet breakfast excellent but should you want poached or scrambled eggs or porridge be prepared to wait. Restaurant had varied menu but was quite pricey for what was being offered. Generally not enough staff - had to wait 45 minutes to be served starters and at that point was told that one of the main courses was not available.

The twin room allocated was very dark and airless. Couldnt get reading lights to work. Bedside lights could only be on or off at the same time. Bright light on all night outside window, so blackout curtains had to be drawn, not helping air circulation. Fan allocated, was clogged up with dust. Generally, whole site was good. Very good breakfast. Swimming and gym booking system difficult to manage, but hood there are different sessions available. Decor quite dated and 'soulless' in room and Blosdoms restaurant. Site position excellent. Amazing views and lovely grounds and facilities (eg, pitch and putt, crazy golf). Staff friendly and accommodating. Will return at some point. Excellent position for catching up with family in Stamford. Will book a room or apartment with a balcony next time.

Lovely hotel but outdoor facilities need better upkeep. Pitch and Putt was unplayable, crazy golf could just do with a little care. Restaurant and food excellent. Rooms cosy as suggested but well equipped and modern. Shower positioning could be difficult for taller people. Reception staff could be a little friendlier too but overall we had a lovely stay with family.
