Otterburn Castle Country House Hotel

It's a beautiful, quiet place in the country with wonderful, caring staff. Elly, Alex, and Ivan were great. Our kids loved that they could spend a night in a castle. We also took a lovely walk on the grounds.

Absolute joy staying here! Who wouldn’t want to stay in a castle? But this castle has the best service I’ve had from any hotel. Just has such a wonderfully warm feel around the place and the family are so friendly and attentive!

This is a really lovely hotel. Stunning on the outside as well as the in. I loved the old vintage furniture in the bedrooms - especially my huge mirrored wardrobe. A family of 15 of us went and we all loved it. I especially loved the staff at this hotel. Such friendly, lovely, personable people. It really makes a difference to be able to have a laugh with the staff. Breakfast was great. Thanks for having us.

The service throughout was excellent, for a family concern managing such a large estate is truly commendable!! The food was M/Star standard, I would highly recommend eating in the restaurant, it was delicious. I will be going back, it is worth staying there for the experience alone!! Wonderful, historic building owned & run by a mother-son family & friends. Warm welcome & Eleanor offered a fascinating recount of the building’s varied history when asked. Lovely dinner & breakfast served. Clean rooms & comfy beds (just no WiFi in room - available in lounge & bar area). Super grounds and location. Unique stay. Absolutely worth a visit if in area.

Service by this family run hotel is outstanding! Pretty little hotel, vintage and authentic, opposite a beautiful wedding venue that’s literally 5 mins walk, Le Petite Chateaux. Plenty of parking and spacious rooms. Fantastic breakfast!

A lovely characterful family run hotel in tranquil Northumberland. Our hosts couldn't be better, even contacting us before check-in to see whether we wanted a dinner reservation. The hotel was easy to find and parking available in front of the hotel. Check-in was simple and the room spacious. Being an old property the floors are uneven and creak, but that's what you expect for something that's been around, in one form or another, since 1086. The dinner was delicious, with a fair selection of wines to accompany it, and the breakfast hearty. We will return the next time we need to stay in the area.

A lovely family business with a very warm welcome, amazing breakfast. Only down side was a lumpy mattress.
