Holiday Inn Leicester, an IHG Hotel

Good for family.

The room was large and bright, the bathroom was super clean and the beds were especially comfortable! The food was lovely too and there was a large range to choose from for breakfast. There was however an incident where the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the building half dressed at midnight. Staff were very responsive and so were the local fire team. The matter in my opinion has already been handled by the duty manager. I will definitely be back again to stay with other family members.

Good place to be with family and friends. Nice food and welcoming management at the restaurant.

Beside your staying area what else you need, if you just walk for 5 minutes and everything is there for your family.

We chose the hotel because it is very near De Montfort university. It is literally across the road, so if you have a family member that studies in the uni then it is the nearest hotel to be One of the main issues for me was the fact that there is only one lift and with 8 floors, sometimes we had to wait even up to 5minutes. But I guess that can't change but I just mention it. Another thing is if you want someone to call you at the hotel, they will be charged 10ppm Which I find a bit excessive. If you decide to have breakfast in the morning then you are charged about 13pounds. But if you get a voucher from reception the night before then it is 10pounds. Breakfast is ok. Nothing wow but not bad! Overall Im happy with the hotel!

Unfortunately my stay was awful. At check-in, we were told, we would have to check out early as the hotel is having an electricity check so the hotel will lose all electricity. Which is fine. However 1. this should have been communicated to us before our arrival so we can decide if we want to proceed or find somewhere else to stay. 2. I needed an early checkin. If you are going to throw us out of the room early, the absolute least you can do is let us have an early checkin. But no. The woman was very 'computer says no' She did not check if there were any rooms available. She did not care we were a large family group. Zero empathy. No we cannot stay in a dark room with no electricity for 2 hours. So yes you are forcing people out early. I have emailed customer services and the hotel and zero response. The lack of communication, accountability and response is disgusting. But I guess you get what you pay for. If you want to be treated like piece of crap, sure this is the place to come. But seriously, run away. Book something else for your piece of mind. Run far far away. Holiday Inn, if you want to speak with me, how about you respond to my email?

Hotel staff were all wonderful. So polite and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Food was good and when we had an issue it was rectified and sorted straight away with no problems at all. Only slight negatives is it would be better to have a double and 2 single beds for a family room. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

I paid extra money to booked this hotel holiday inn Leicester city due to the spa, swimming, sauna and gym facility’s to use at hotel at the time of the booking as this was very important to me. As to my surprise when I checked in to the hotel these facilities were not available and this was very disappointing and distressing for me and my family as we where a family of four who stayed at the hotel. We explained to the hotel manager this is the reason of us staying at this very hotel despite paying extra then other hotel with same standards which I could have booked for a lot less with free car parking. My overall experience after going away for the 1st time after the pandemic was very disappointing. We have decided not to book with holiday inn again in the future as the management understood or even cared why we booked to be there.

Ideal location in center of town 5 min walk to main shopping area found all staff to be very friendly and helpful. Had two grand children with us they were maid very welcome pool area was closed as it was being refurbished but a selection of toys was maid available to keep them entertained

This hotel is in an excellent location and is close to all amenities and facilities whether you want to go shopping at Highcross, go clubbing or buy Indian clothes on Belgrave Road. The rooms are big and have two double beds so they are ideal for families or friends sharing. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there are plenty of staff on duty unlike the budget hotels nearby where you can't get hold of anyone. The breakfast is excellent with a good choice of food. Plus kids eat free with a paying adult. Overall, this hotel provides excellent value for money.
