The Dukes Head Hotel

The Dukes Head has always been the main hotel in the town (I grew up in Kings Lynn) and I was looking forward to the stay. Whilst the diwnstairs public areas were lovely the second floor was very tired and to be.honest a real disappointment. The room was clean although there were stains on the throw on the bed but the furniture has laminate missing in several areas and you could see the chipboard underneath. The tv didnt work although this was rectified The shower drained very slowly and I had to turn the shower off midway through and wait 3 or 4 minutes to prevent flooding the bathroom. We were offered a different room but as we were heading out to meet family for a meal we decided to stay The hotel were aware of the drainage issues so I am not sure why they.put us in there when there were obviously other rooms available.

The Vancouver room was lovely looking, but missing little things like hooks in the bathroom, a shelf in the shower. There was no fridge so all drinks were warm. Even after prompting staff at mid day that we needed bedding for the kids, it was not put in the room. After asking at 9pm and again at 9.30 we eventually got all the linen after the housekeeping made 4 trips to get it all. Room boiling hot so had to prop open all the windows and listen to someone else's air con all night. Breakfast unorganised, but food ok.
