5 out of 5 stars

My husband and I had a one night stay in one of the garden rooms. It had a little patio with a table and chairs outside under shelter, which was a really nice touch. The bed was huge, really comfy. We didn’t eat breakfast or dinner here, but the room service prices were pretty reasonable we felt. We used the spa. Do not be mistaken !! The spa is not included in the room rate !! This was a mistake on my part, I did not notice when booking. We paid an additional £40 (£20 each) for 2 hours use of the spa facilities. This let it down slightly, as I’ve been to many spa hotels and never had to pay extra. That was a shame. The spa was nice though, very small but of good quality. The grounds and the hotel itself were all kept to really good standards, it is a lovely little hotel. We had a really relaxing, child free stay and would love to return one day.

We have stayed here more than once and have used the hotel for family occasions. The dining room continues to please, and the rooms are well appointed (there have bee progressive, well-executed upgrades over the years) On this occasion we stayed a Monday night - there were some (possibly consequent) deficiencies (non availability of a couple of afternoon bar menu items, ran out of bottled Prosecco after half a glass, a male staff member who failed to fulfil a request at breakfast). Overall, we would stay again.
