Lensfield Hotel

Well, I left and didn’t stay. Even when I’d paid in advance. The room was £152 and when I arrived my heart sank. It just seemed old and tired and in a style similar to 1980s tv show fawlty towers. Anyway, I persevered and was shown to my room. When I opened the bedroom door a wave of musty damp smell hit me and I knew it wasn’t for me. I complained and was shown to an alternative room. I have to say it was pleasant service and the assistant did try to help. But the family room option was equally depressing albeit without the smell. In summary I’d say go elsewhere if you can afford to. If the budget is tight you’ll be ok here but measure your expectations.

A two night stay after arriving from the States before visiting family in the area. Very easy check in after 28 hours of travel. Comfortable room, no noise inside or outside the hotel to disturb us. Great ‘continental breakfast’ and interesting neighbor to explore with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We would recommend ‘Olive Grove’ on Regent Street for delicious Greek food. The only negative for us were the steep narrow stairways up to our room. Hard to navigate with suitcases. No elevators.

This is brilliantly located for walking around the city sites. Staff were friendly and efficient. The complimentary breakfast plentiful though limited GF options evident. Our family room had a soft bed, not to our taste. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but on the plus side had a full size bath.
