As a 4 star hotel I expected more. The sofa bed which was made up for my teenage children were lumpy and they could feel the metal poles. We stayed in a budget hotel for 2 nights in Exeter and the beds were much better. We had dinner and the food was tadty but very oily. Breakfast was also not 4 star standard. We had breakfast at 8 and the scrambled eggs were dry, mushrooms oily and it looked like the food had already been sitting there for hours. Steam room was out of order, but sauna was good. Not worth the money.

Nothing special. Booked for 2 x adults and 2 X children, only 3 bed spaces made up. Alerted reception at around 4pm just after we checked in and told that housekeeping would sort. Went out, upon our return at 7:30pm with tired children the bed was still a sofa. Receptionist came up with some sheets as housekeeping had gone home. They did offer to make the bed but we did it ourselves. Dodgy brown stains on the quilt. Sofa beds ran at an angle so felt like you were laid on a hill. TV was dated and a pain to work with minimal channels. Pillows hard. Bed not comfortable. Suspicious fluid stains all over the wooden headboard which showed themselves in the glow of my phone screen Various noises heard from elsewhere in the property disturbing sleep. Everything at reception seemed to take a bizarre amount of time and everything seemed to require trips to reception. Queue to check in. Find a problem, call reception, no answer. Back down to queue to tell them the issue. Paid for parking upon check in. If we want to leave the car park we have to queue up for them to scan our ticket When we want to check out, again we have to queue up to scan the ticket. Much better hotels around!

We usually stay here, but recently the service has downgraded. Lesser options during breakfast and packets of butter jam condiment are not available. Dont give water in room. I told them i am there with my toddler and wife for 3 weeks almost and no water bottles. Cleaning was decent. Blanket and floors very dirty and dusty

Nice hotel, located close to the train station and walkable distance to shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful in answering our questions, and they stored our luggage while we waited for the check in time (our flight arrived early in the morning) allowing us to walk around without our bags in the morning. Our kids liked having separate beds in the family room.

Positives: The staff at the novotel were helpful and friendly. The additional activities for children were appreciated. The bed and bedding were comfy. Rituals toiletries were lovely. Plenty of towels and complimentary water was lovely. Breakfast food was good and gluten free options appreciated. Ways to improve: Decor is very tired and in need of rejuvenation. Carpets had seen better days.At breakfast gluten free options and decaf coffee was not readily avaliable. Once requested it took quite a while to have these items delivered.Children said the sofa beds were uncomfortable. Lots of local conatruction so quite noisy.

Good location, the breakfast was tasty, and there was a lot of choice. The room was small and not very clean but we couldn’t be bothered to even attempt to change the room with two kids. The room was also very small for the family of four. Hardly any room for our luggages.

Upon arrival the person who checked us in had no personality, he was blunt and not at all friendly. When we got to the room we had not been provided with the 2 cots as requested but the sofa bed pulled out. Not ideal for my baby and 2 year old. The staff quickly brought up 2 cots and we left them to put them up whilst we went for dinner. On our return we noticed no bedding at all for the cots. Not even a bottom sheet. I didn't think this to be very hygienic. The room, especially the bathroom was very dated and rough around the edges. I found long blonde hair in the bed and I am not blonde! The heating/Aircon did not work well, it was just one consistent temperature which for us was too hot. Overall a very mediocre stay at a hotel that I would certainly not believe to be 4 star.

The Novotel (Bristol) was a lovely experience for all the family with comforting service and all staff had smiles whenever spoken to ,the only disappointment that occurred was that the breakfast appeared to be cold and the bacon was dry.In the past, the breakfast was perfect. But overall, the service and comfort was incredible.
