Overnight stay with grandkids and two dogs. Service brilliant staff were rushed off their feet but mega friendly and helpful. Bed way too soft, work up with stiff back!
But overall great little stop over.

Small but comfortable room, no noise considering how close to the A1 we are.
Food was lovely.
We have 2 young children and the only downside was the amount of dog poo in the grassed area while we were running off some energy.

Comfortable family room looking out to sea. Staff were very friendly & welcoming, especially Vicky who showed us to our room & sorted the heating for us. Very nice breakfast in the morning, pleasant surroundings & good value for money overall.

We stayed for 2 nights with our little dog. We loved how dog friendly Purdy Lodge is. We were able to have breakfast, lunch and dinner with her which really meant alot to us. Purdy Lodge understand that some people do not like dogs so there are 2 seating areas, one for dog owners and the other for non dog people. This made us even more comfortable.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and also extremely busy.
The room was lovely with a nice view down to the sea and Bamburgh Castle. The hotel is very conveniently located just off the A1 which makes getting to places very easy. I expected to hear road noise in the hotel, but didnt hear it at all.
We'll definitely be back. I'd recommend Purdy Lodge to anyone, especially those who, like us, see their dog as part of the family.

Was a bit concerned when I pulled up to the service station lodge but needn’t have worried as it was lovely. Cosy family feel, comfortable beds, quiet rooms and delicious food.

Stayed with my family as we had a one night overnight stay whilst we explored the Northumberland coast and it was great! We had dinner and breakfast at Purdy Lodge and both were fantastic! Really good food and the options available at breakfast were a good selection that suited the whole family! The fact is hotel is dog friendly is a major plus as well! Would definitely stay again if we were back in the area

I admit I was a little worried it could be noisy, but all the rooms are at the back, facing the fields so a quiet nights sleep was not a problem. The room was clean and tidy abd the bed was comfortable, with a squishy topped mattress.
Bathroom was well appointed with very hot water and nice fluffy towels. Only downside of the room was the toilet roll was cheap stuff.
A good nights sleep was mamaged, only annoying thing was the early starters (those folk who were up and out at 6am) tended to let the corridor doors slam shut. A few mufflers to stop the doirs slamming would be appreciated.
Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice, and the staff were always happy to restock everything if the family in front cleared the place of all food like a swarm of locusts. Ate in one evening and the food was tasty and well cooked even if the service could be a little slow (but the hotel was packed). Bar wasn't the best stocked for mixers, but was nice to have, and there were a few tables outside if you wanted more space.
The position, right on the A1 was great, ideally placed to visit Bamburgh locally, or be in either Alnwick or Berwick in a short time. There are several good restaurants locally, with both Bamburgh and Seahouses having a couple of nice options.
