City Suites Taipei Nandong

We booked this stay last minute because we extended our trip in Taipei. When I booked, I was made aware that we had the last family room, a windowless room in the basement, and we were ok with that. What we did not like was the constant nervous energy of the staff. I speak Mandarin so we were able to communicate but there were many instances of hovering. We checked in early and then left the hotel for 7 hours. When we returned, we realized that there were not enough towels and sheets. We asked, and then the man at the front desk said that we should have enough linens, and that we should be charged more for our room. We said that we have 3 adults and 2 kids (10 and 4) and that is what we listed with our booking. But he insisted that we should be charged more. The next morning at breakfast, we found out it was not included. With the 2 kids, we wanted to sit in the lounge area, but we were not allowed to. They hovered around us, and cleaned as we ate and reminded us that breakfast was soon over. The energy of the place was too tense.
