Best Western Plus John Bauer Hotel

Good hotel, and good location. Great breakfast. Very disappointed though with the service on new years eve. The hotel bar closed at 7pm, with no information provided before the booking. My wife and I had taken our 2 kids back to the hotel after dinner to enjoy the evening there. Upon finding out this was the case, I politely asked if there is something that could be done…(maybe a couple of drinks to the room, as any decent hotel might offer) only to be looked at as if I had two heads. After alot of discussion, the barmen (who were still all there) finally agreed to let me buy a bottle of wine to take to my room. At a price of 700sek (€70) Needless to say, the evening was sour after all this. We never complain about anything, and are generally easy pleased, but what ever happened to the human touch, and not the ”computer say’s no” response. Maybe realising that the information was not provided by the hotel, so maybe try to help a person out, instead of making them feel like a raging alcoholic for trying to have a couple of glasses of wine on new years eve. Really disappointing.😕
