Great staff - friendly, helpful and generally nice. But the hotel is in a very noisy environment, and Colombo roadworks in the middle of the night, add to it.
The restaurant is OK, not great. No hoppers for breakfast! Room service would have been the way to go. Breakfast was a bit boring and repetitious. I would not pay for breakfast at the hotel again. But on this trip, it was useful to get the family together. Do not have the Odiyal Kool - it is nothing like the real thing. The vegetarian curries were very good. Go for the traditional Poriyal dishes - they were also good. Hoppers were so-so, with the egg overcoooked. I do better at home.
