Hotel Barcelona Princess

First of all food was amazing! The breakfast, the restaurant and the room service!! Delicious! The Hotel was very clean all the time. And the staff in general were very polite and friendly. My only complaint is the front desk… I did all the check-in process. Paid for my entire family breakfast and parking. Room was already paid. When I ask how was the set up of the room she told me “You will get a double bed and a double sofa bed” I said: that’s not what I reserved. I paid for a room with a double/king bed and a twin bed sofa (sofa with 2 twin bed that separate). She said they don't have that set up. And They couldn’t do anything about it. I only choose that hotel because they offer that specific to sleep 4 adults (NOT two couples). I even showed her my reservation that the room I paid for said that! And she insist that they didn’t have that! Her only solution was to cancel and go find another hotel. After me complaining and asking how they offer something they don't have, one lady next to her said let me call housekeeping. Finally house keeping said she can separate the “double bed and make it to twin beds. Which it was find with us. When we got to the room we noticed that the said sofa bed had a twin bed on the top and a pull out bed an the bottom that you can separate SO the advertising was 100% right. We almost leave and cancel my whole family reservation and ruin our trip for nothing! My suggestion: Train the front desk better at least what are have in their own “house”

Complimentary welcome treat was ready as I arrived and I greatly appreciated the effort of the staff who prepared it. I don’t get the same treatment from other VIP ACCESS hotel. The staff at the check in counter were amazing. Easy check out. They were wear a smile on their face. Very helpful and friendly. Same with the hotel porters. We have a big room and a nice view. Breakfast is included with my stay and have enjoyed it. Lots of selection from hot or cold breakfast. Hotel is next to a shopping mall. Loads of restaurants around. Few minutes walk to the train station. Quiet area and I feel safe. Beach is also very close. I highly recommend the hotel to my family and friends. I will stay again on my next visit.

The upper pool was taken by adults behaving like kids with loud music and getting drunk, leaving garbage everywhere including elevators. Most people that wanted to relax went to the lower pool, where teenagers were splashing wetting people and food eating besides. What the hell is this?

Unfortunately I was disappointed in this property. On the 2nd day of my stay, a glass was broken in front of the elevators by housekeeping. Up until I left, there were still visible shards of glass where barefoot children coming from the pool walked. It would've been nice to have a coffee pot in the room. The liner around the pools was quite dirty and there were never any pool towels available.

So we booked a room for 4, as we usually do but we have a family of 5, our little one usually sleeps in the bed with us. On check in I was told that it was fine for the 5 of us to be in the room, but was later told that we could not have 5 people and was told I had to purchase another room. With no other options at 7 at night after traveling all day we purchased another room. When I looked at expedia after tI realized the hotel charged me a lot more then I could have got the room for. And it stank like smoke. The manager was not helpful, was rude and not at all helpful. It really was so much stress at the start of our trip. I get the rules on having only 4 , but they way they handled it was awful.

They put pressure to charge $100 for a kid of 5 years old at the check-in. We asked to cancel the booking and they said it was not refundable and wanted $100 more to keep the reservation. After 1h15 of negotiation with hotels.com, we have been charged $150 instead of $100 ( so basically $50 for the kid). Pools are very cold. Be careful also to park your car in this area.
