Gorgeous George by Design Hotels

We chose this hotel because it had a 5 star rating and it offered a suite with two king beds and 1 queen bed—perfect for our family, so it was worth the splurge. We booked it, and then it turned out that neither was accurate. The advertised room didn’t even exist! We arrived late, tired and hungry, and too late to find another hotel, so the only way to get a 2nd king bed was to pay for a 2nd room, making the cost even higher. Totally unfair and unprofessional. The hotel staff handled it very poorly—they made us wait forever while they tried to find a manager or anyone who would know how to handle the situation. They had no idea what they were doing. When they finally gave us an additional price to pay (and even wrote it in their notes!), the next day, they ended up charging us an even higher amount! This was not anything like a 5 star hotel! They also had no concierge or other amenities to make the hotel in keeping with such a rating.

The atmosphere at Gorgeous George is just amazing, the hotel is located in the city center of Cape Town with access to anything you want just minutes away. The style and decorations was very nice. The staff was very friendly, helpful and just made our say so relaxed and mesmerising. The room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. In our room we also had a bluetooth speaker which was just one of those small items making the stay a little bit better. The roof top bar is just from another world, it's good for people coming on an after work drink, or in the morning to just relax. Even for families who have kids who need to get rid of that extra energy. We can highly recommend Gorgeous George to anyone, it really suits everyone who want a hip, fresh, vibrant place to stay in the center of Cape Town.
