Microtel by Wyndham Boracay

My family enjoyed the location, pool and beach. They loved the accommodating staff.

My stay at Microtel in Boracay was great! Staff was very courteous, friendly, helpful and hospitable. The room was clean, great location. Restaurant serves delicious meals with very nice and friendly staff. I stayed for 2 weeks. They were like family by the time I left.

Microtel is located on a secluded beach with marvelous views and clear water. The pool is maybe 4 feet deep, but it is clean and great for kids. The restaurant is good for a hotel this size. If all you are looking for is a quiet resort where you are tucked away, then this is a fantastic choice. However, the main tourist area is some distance away, and just about all of the roads on the island are badly torn up with road construction (nothing that Microtel can do about this). The government is installing sewer and storm drain lines and widening the roads, so it will be a couple of years before you see a real improvement on the island. It rained part of the time we were on the island, so the roads were bumpy (as in Jeep trail rough) and muddy. The resort itself is located at the very end of a winding neighborhood road that is barely wide enough for the hotel shuttle to pass. The free hotel shuttle is the only real option for getting to the main tourist area unless you wish to hike over the hill to Long Beach (which I am not up to). You have to sign up for the free hotel shuttle hours in advance to be ensured a seat. That kind of makes spontaneous ventures a little difficult. The WIFI in our room was a little weak, and it cut out a few times, but then so did the power (only momentarily).

I loved the privacy that the place has. Perfect place for families and friend.
