South Palms Resort Panglao

South Palms is an awesome place to relax. It’s not overly populated, peaceful and staff are great! One thing I enjoyed the most was the massage. The therapists were all great and friendly plus a wonderful view to savour after the treatment. The room was nice but the aircon inside our room was not as strong as my children’s room. An exhaust inside the bathroom would be a good addition 😁 Overall, it was an amazing stay! I can recommend this place to my family and friends.

The room smells like Mildew. The air conditioner made noise all night. We had no hot water for two different days. We will not recommend this property to friends and family.

It was just opening after the pandemic and they were really short on staff. We had to wait a long time to get our orders. Only the poolbar was open as restaurant and the food was sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Their wine selection was very limited. It was a lot of very noicy Philippinos there; families and also a big company outing. For some reason they always shout when they talk to each other, not condidering other guests. The beach in South Palms is beautiful, but swimming is no good since it’s very shallow water and the corals go all the way into shore. They have two small pools, but again lots of noicy children. I chose to stay there to go diving, which was great. I had to days of diving with the dive center in Bohol beach club. South Palms has a cool set up with lots of bean bags, swings, hammocks etc. It is a relaxing place to spend a few days, and to go on daytrips. The reception is also service minded. The place is probably better when it’s not pandemic.

I’m writing this as an American tourist that has been to all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and Costa Rica a few times (to help you American readers compare). This resort is 5 stars. Staff is very nice and helpful. The beach itself is amazing. Clear waters, white soft sand. Just watch out for the sea urchins. Staff can give you more details about that. They have some kayaks available for 30 minute rental too. Pools are nice and clean. The breakfast buffet is better than any buffet I’ve ate at in the (family friendly) all-inclusive resorts in Mexico/CR, with authentic Filipino food. Spa is a bit pricey compared to massage spas in Tagbilaran City but that’s expected with resorts. Since we stayed just a day we didnt have a chance to enjoy all their amenities. If you want peace and quietness, this is the place for you.
