Stayed in this hotel in Wellington, loved it so stayed here for an overnight with kids was perfect. Good room, lovely staff and did the valet parking so no hassles there.

Overall the place was ok but not really worth $330 a night for the tiny room. Noise was an issue as there was an interlinked room. You could hear every fart, laugh or toilet excursion. The room didn’t have much light. The beds were pretty budget and a leg wheel unscrewed itself off. We just put it back on ourselves as the bed was light and easy to lift. Couldn’t be bothered with reception as they didn’t seem that helpful at check in. The morning check out people seemed pretty good though. There was a free chocolate hour that we kind of got some info on as we checked in and there were a few things to try. It seemed like it might be a good thing to bring a family to if you arrived in time for that. The shower was pretty good but the bathroom was a weird design Eg no extractor fan, the shower didn’t really drain (just wasn’t angled correctly). The place was ok but just overpriced and cheaply put together. Eg no soundproofing and someone was clearly smoking next door, so can’t have been much sealing in the adjoining room door. I guess it would be good for families but too bad for strangers. The location was convenient as we planned to catch a shuttle to the corromandel and an east walk to the wharf etc. Breakfast not included. Buffet breakfast was an add on of 42$ per person. (Which would have taken the stay to 410 for one night) There are plenty of better options nearby. And in hindsight would have been easier to stay near the airport or just rent an Airbnb

This was an emergency booking following last minute flight cancellations during the recent weather event and so we were lucky to find rooms but my older family members who arrived before me were not listened to by reception staff on arrival who denied them access to one of our two booked and fully paid rooms. After being messaged by my family, I rang to resolve from Australia and found the staff member to be quite obstinate. Problem was eventually resolved after asking to escalate but not without disproportionate stress to my family members who were dismissed as being mistaken about additional room (despite booking invoice clearly being for two rooms).

Loved chocolate hour and the rooms were very clean and nice. Unfortunately for the second time, we were short a towel. Four people registered to the room on two different occasions and only enough towels for three. Both times not noticed until all were showering so quite inconvenient. One towel per registered guest should be an automatic. The second time there was also no hand soap for the sink (bar or otherwise) so we used shower body wash. Very minor details but easy for them to correct for future guests! Otherwise a lovely hotel, great location, family friendly, and great breakfast!
