The hotel itself is super charming, but we ended up booking it as it was also actually affordable when we compared it to other properties with similar amenities. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, the pool area was great. They set us up with a crib for our baby and the room itself has near black out blinds so we were happy with that.
Well located near grocery if you don't want to dine in, and close to the train station. Overall a great stay!

Really liked the wellness part with the pool! Good for a dip in the morning.
It was our first trip with our newborn: a baby bed was provided by the hotel.
Nice location in the city centre and next to the train station. No noise from outside in the room, very comfortable bed and bathroom with bathtub! Would recommend.

It was okay. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, the beds were good and the location was perfect. We did have some things that made the stay not great however.
First, the mini fridge was not working and it had a really bad smell. We had brought some food from our previous hotel that had a kitchen, but we ended up throwing it out since the fridge didn't work.
Second, one of the elevators was closed the entire time we were there, and that meant we had to wait for like 10 minutes every time we wanted to go up or down. This was hard especially when we checked out since we had 4 suitcases and a baby/stroller. The elevator to wayy too long since it was full every time. We ended up lifting our stroller down the stairs since we couldn't wait too long.
There were a couple of things that we had to call for which made it a bit inconvenient. We had to call for mugs even though the room has a coffee machine, room service menu, and other small things.
The hotel is also extremely warm all the time that we ended up sweating whenever we stepped out of the room. I like the idea of using the room key to save energy and enable the electricity, but you should at least get 2 keys. Otherwise, if my family wanted to stay in the room while I went out to get something, I had no key to get back in.
Overall the stay was good, but there were some things that could be improved. The staff was great and helpful and the location itself was great

I loved everything minus the creepy baby eating chocolate room. Besides that it’s amazing hotel close to trains and buses! It’s clean and in a great location! Highly recommend!

Unique design to the hotel drew me in at booking stage but then has a wow factor when you see it. I'd booked a junior sweet which is probably the best room I've ever stayed in when using a hotel. Loads of room, massive bed, whirlpool bath and sauna in the room just amazing. Zaandam itself has plenty of shops and places to eat and an easy 10 minute train journey into Amsterdam. Should I come back to amsterdam I wouldn't hesitate to book to stay here again.

The architecture of the hotel and its location are very unique in a good way. The interieur is well planned and pretty. The waterfall next to the dining room and the beautiful canal starting at the hotel are amazing.
The climate is typical for being close to the sea. It was windy at all times, but the temperatures were pleasant.
Breakfast is fantastic including a wide variety of continental breakfast items as well as American breakfast and champagne! The coffee is freshly grinded and brewed. During peak times there was no tables available, but the fantastic food made up for eating in our room. A three course lunch is available.
We started many activities from the hotel because they are either in walking distance or easy to access from the public transportation (train/bus) just minutes from the hotel. If you avoid the highways, you can also comfortably drive downtown Amsterdam where day parking is affordable. Traveling with a young child, our favorite experiences were the Zaandam Windmill Village, the Amsterdam Zoo, Nemo, Rembrandt House, and the canals. A huge part of our good experience were the friendly and helpful locals who seem to know how to just enjoy live.

Pool very cold and not family friendly. Beautiful hotel. Close to train station shops and restaurants.
