Albus Hotel Amsterdam City Centre

We stayed with our 2 children. The hotel was really well set up for a family. They provided a cot and the kids gift bag on arrival was a really nice touch. Facilities excellent. Room was very nice and spacious and had everything we needed. Great location too, very central. Lots of dining options nearby, close to all the sights. Staff very helpful too. Would definitely stay again.

Great location. Wonderful service. Sadly, the elevator was broken and unable to be fixed. Having a handicapped family member made it difficult. They did get us a room one flight up, but it was difficult. Secondly, the shower would not drain. Water went everywhere and you were limited to a one minute shower. Breakfast was excellent. Again, people were wonderful. We suggest you use an international repair service for the elevator and not someone local. As for the drain, yuck. Standing in dirty water.

Excellent location. The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. When we arrived they had prepare gift bags for my kids. I would totally recommend this hotel, and we hope we can come back.

What a treat! The Albus exceeded our expectations in every way and I highly recommend. We stayed there as a family of three and they even helped us arrange a babysitter for one evening.

This hotel is a dump. It’s listed as a 4 star, but it barely qualifies as a 3 star in my experience. Mold in the shower, a bathroom design that allows the water to pour out of the shower and keeps the bathroom floor constantly soaked, paper thin walls, no carpets anywhere in the rooms to help with the noise from floors above and below, and a paper thin mattress, all at a high price point. We stayed for three nights with our very well behaved young children. The second night there a member of the hotel staff approached me around 7 PM to ask if “possibly my children are being loud and unruly in the room, because we received a complaint?” No, my children were not making noise or bothering anyone at all, as they were seated in the room watching a movie. The only good thing about this hotel is its location. Do yourself a favor and do NOT book this hotel.
