My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Alaya! The best part was the staff who made us feel like family. The resort is very beautiful, quiet, and close to activities.

Amazing place! Highly recommend. We visited with our two young kids and booked the big house on the beach. It was gorgeous and the staff was incredible.

Quite possibly the most beautiful and relaxing stay I’ve ever experienced. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay that is reflective of the natural beauty and environment of Tulum and not the all-inclusive resort side. Also the opportunity to see baby sea turtles climb the shore past my room at night is a memory I’ll have forever.

We loved our stay at Alaya Tulum. The property is gorgeous and in a great location. Walkable to many shops and restaurants yet closer to the quieter side of the Tulum Hotel zone. Daniel was very accommodating and helpful during our stay/check in. Ricardo our server at the beach area was so kind and attentive. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are very nice. We originally booked the family villa w/ the bunk beds. They will accommodate teenagers but I recommend them more for younger children. We asked Daniel if we could move to a two double bed room instead and he was very accommodating and it worked out because of availability they moved us at no charge for the two double bed/ocean view room. I recommend that room for adults sharing or a family with older teenagers. The breakfast every morning was delicious and the service was amazing beginning to end of our stay. We will definitely look forward to returning to Alaya.

Absolutely amazing hotel but most importantly the staff!! Found this hotel last minute during my trip and it made the trip memorable. Most notable was the staff. They were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our hotel room got flooded on our second night after hurricane Agatha made landfall in Tulum. Within minutes the staff we’re there to take our luggage to the next room. They checked on us throughout the night and the remainder of the stay they treated us like family.
The hotel was equipped with everything ! Since it was raining we really couldn’t get out much the first 2 days. The restaurant on location was Delicious !! Serve in the restaurant was 10/10. Ricardo, Rafael, Raul, Luis and Chef Pancho was absolutely amazing. We felt like we had a private waitstaff and chef. My mom had many allergies and the chef made sure to prepare everything to her liking and with care. The servers were so friendly. Literally made us feel like we were at home.
Finally when the sun came out we spent the day at the beach club. There was a server who brought out drinks and food the entire afternoon. They also set up our umbrellas every so often when the sun moved. They were so attentive to detail.
The hotel itself had everything we needed. They offered yoga every morning at 9am in a beautiful open space with some truly amazing teachers. They also had a series of events/activities such as a self-love meditation workshop, spa, sound healing and more. 10/10 would recommend !!

We arrived 5 hours earlier than check-in, the hotel attendant at the time, David, held our luggage in his office and allowed us to roam on the beach with a free complimentary drink until our room was ready. Within an hour and a half we were escorted to our beautiful room on the second floor. It was clean, nice marble flooring, with a beautiful balcony that overlooked the rest of the hotel. The hotel itself is on a beach so it's easy to get sand everywhere, there was also lots outside critters that wormed their way in from time to time, but expected as you are in the jungle! It worthy to note the hotel is on a more expensive strip, DO NOT get scammed by some of the shops on the strip (tacos in Tulum should not cost $7)! Try going to Tulum pueblo for a cheaper meal. The hotel was also very quiet, not as busy as we expected (our trip was late March) kinda felt like we had the beach all to ourselves. Plenty of people offered massages on the beach for $20 - $60 and they were amazing! At the end of the trip, after we'd missed our arranged bus back to the airport, a hotel attendant helped us arrange another bus! Would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family!!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We came as a family of 5 (including 3 kids - 12, 2.5, and <1 year old). The food was amazing, check in thorough, extremely friendly staff, and beautiful/clean/comfortable rooms, with such a charming access to the beach. My only complaint has nothing to do with the hotel itself - the roads were ridiculously torn up with pot holes and that surprised me because it took forever to get to the hotel and Google maps doesn’t have it located accurately, so it was kind of late and dark while we struggled to find it. Nearby employees were helpful finding it though and they had parking available. Cannot wait to go back with just my husband some day!
