Staff exceeded my expectations: very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. My family, a group of 16, were greeted and appreciated throughout our 3-day stay. We made use of the pool, ate breakfast, enjoyed margaritas at the bar and used the arcade. Very pleasant stay and will return in the future.

The lock on our door was broken which meant endless trips to the front desk to get help with access. There should be a railing to help get in and out of the pool. The room was worn. The cleaning staff was excellent. Maybe good for families. Good location.

My family and I stayed at the Real de Minas for five days. The location is ideal. Only about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the historic district and landmarks not to mention the well used by Don Miguel Hidalgo in 1810 located right in the hotel lobby! The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the Buffet in the restaurant every day. Great choices for parents and kids, good variety. Just one quirk/tip for visitors, when using the shower, please turn up the left hot water handle for a couple of minutes - otherwise, it will stay cold. Since we visited in February, the pool never really heated up during the day, but that’s to be expected since nighttime temperatures were in the upper 30s or lower 40s.
Our rooms were clean and comfortable and spacious enough for four with the two full sized beds.
If you have kids, they will enjoy the playground behind the hotel, which includes slides, a little house to play in, a trampoline, and a seesaw.
This was a great value for what we paid each night, and I would recommend to anyone and of course we would return there anytime. Located in the heart of one of the world’s most beautiful small cities, we should be back one day soon.

Onsite parking is great, but you have to pay extra;
Check-in was fine, had to pay extra for my two children;
Room was fine but toilet hose was leaking, so had to report and argue for another room;
Staff conceded with slight upgrade;
Minimal towels, shampoo, and soap so bring your own;
Onsite restaurant and snack bar is fine but cost extra of course;
Bell boys are very helpful, lobby is very spacious, convenient, and comfortable;
Location is great but approximately 12 minutes walk time to plaza via street with steady and safe traffic;
Overall good - considering safety, convenience, and amenities.
