The island exceeded my expectations. Beautiful beaches, wonderful service, good food, activities for kids, safe and quiet, great pool also. The staf was wonderful, very friendly, helpful and respecful, special thanks to Suraj at the pool :) The trip to Male was great aswell. Bandos island was family oriented and me and my daughter had one really amazing holiday. Hope will come back again someday.

Fabulous staff and great food made this a perfect, restful vacation overall. Snorkelling off the beach on the house reef was good and saved us money on otherwise expensive snorkelling tours off island. The only thing we didn't expect was the number of families there. Not a problem if you're OK with kids on vacation, but if you prefer a mostly adult environment, look somewhere else. Did I mention the fabulous staff ....?

Where do I begin? I will start with the positives - the beach and the grounds are beautiful, the staff especially The Gallery and Sand Bar staff were amazing - special shout out to Marvel and her other colleague who always remembered our room number, the food ok. Now for the negatives and there are more of them. Not an all inclusive hotel at all - arrived early morning not allowed breakfast, late departure not allowed lunch - we were not even allowed water unless we paid when we checked out at 12 but left at 5pm All inclusive means just that - you eat and drink as much as you want from the moment of arrival to point of departure. We are on an island where we have no other choices. That is what it is in other parts of the world where we have travelled. Here there is zero flexibility - it says all inclusive but it is misleading as it is only certain drinks and food which is only breakfast, lunch and dinner at one place and only type of snack at one place and only at certain times. It is so regimental. It is meant to be a luxury holiday but not value for money at all. The rooms especially some of the beach huts need modernising - they are dingy and the layout of the bathroom is weird. The bath towels are behind the screen next to the toilet, green mouldy tiles - we said it looked like a prison cell. Would I recommend to family and friends - No I would say pay extra and get your money worth. I have never known anything like it. Oh I forgot to add lots of buildingwork

I ask for a more half a day stay (of course paying) from my arrival and the answer has been procrastinated till the last day when denied, also when I insisted that we have a problem with a lady 80 years old anìd child 6 years old who needed not to stay out of room with 31 celsius temperature degree for more than 5 hours before departure. in my opinion quite a shame

Choosing a resort in the Maldives takes a lot of research! I finally settled on Bandos as it ticked a lot of my boxes. As I was only on a 3 day stopover I wanted an Maldivian Island experience not too far from Male Airport ( Bandos is 10 mins by hotel transfer boat, USD95 return p.p.) and I wanted to be able to snorkel on a house reef at a time that was convenient to me without having to rely on booking other snorkelling trips to outer reefs. Bandos ticked my boxes! It has different accommodation choices to choose from scattered around the Island. I found the staff very friendly, the accommodation super clean (I stayed in a Premium Beach Villa). I found the inclusive meals to be of a high standard and really enjoyed the locally influenced curry dishes. There was a very good selection of dishes generally, however, being celiac I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with the lack of Gluten Free dessert offerings on some of the evenings. During my stay the other guests were a mixture of couples, friends and family groups so pretty much all demographics.

Would NoT recommend it. It’s a 3 star NOT a 4 or 5. Boring. Food is bad, 1 pool, lots
Of screaming kids… basic, bad beach, never would come
Back. Spa is amazing best part of the place and nice rooms.

We have just returned from a week at this excellent resort. The facilities are to a very good standard. Virtually all of the staff were the most helpful and whilst not fair ( all so we must mention Amit Kumar- Head Chef and Ajay Singh- Chef who great care of the dietary needs of my Wife- Shaziya, David & Danat and a special mention to Cynthia at the main Restauant- for their friendly and attentive service. At the Orchid Spa - everyone but especially Joy. Robin for organising the glass bottom boat.
Pro- Great variety of facilities and close to the beach wherever you stay. Beach villas are superb. 12-15 mins by speedboat.
Con- They didn’t have us booked into the correct room on arrival. They could explain their telephone system better.
Weather- there was a fairly strong westerly wind which had an affect on snorkeling but the east side of the island
was sheltered. We only had a couple of downpours which each lasted about 45 mins with a little bit of cold cover otherwise lots of sunshine.
The resort caters for children and the parents seemed well pleased. The pool and swim up bar is great.
We were all inclusive and we were very pleased.
Overall we would recommend and we are already planning a return.

Fish feeding at night was unique.
Emphasis on families with children very unappealing.
Management follow up poor after clothing missing from room following room service.
No notice of Covid test requirement for flight back to US which presented costly and stressful experience at airport. We travel often and even at small hotel in Puerto Vallarta we received Covid test notifications and accommodations.
Food at buffet very disappointing. Caters to spicy Indian tastes. Very boring for 6 days to see same food offered. Food quality poor.
Restaurant staff was generally very friendly.

Beautiful grounds and beaches. Lounge chairs located on small sandy inlets around the island made it feel like it was always a quiet atmosphere while sitting on the beach. Very family friendly and a wonderful staff. Lots to see on the house reef as well. Saw tons of reef sharks! Beautiful sunset bar.
