Urban Central Suites - Beirut

This is the second time my family and I use the hotel and certainly will not be the last. The hotel is new with a nice contemporary decor. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and more importantly very clean. Each room contains a small, well equipped kitchenette, that comes handy for long stays. The staff is friendly, courteous and always willing to help. My family and I travel a lot to Europe and other countries and visit too many hotels during a year, however we find Urban central suites hotel to be one of the best hotels we visited so far. We highly recommend it.

We Unfortunately had a few mishaps during our check-in and stay that took away from having a smooth short vacation in Beirut. At check-in, the two rooms I booked for the family were assigned on different floors. I was concerned that my girls would be on a separe floor from ours. But this concern did not seam to resonate with Glad, the customer associate who was checking us in, neither did she try to offer alternatives. Secondly, the hotel wanted to charge me $25 for the third person in the room although my prepaid booking was explicitly made with three people in each room on hotels.com with a prepaid total price. I declined the extra bed and had my young child sleep on a blanket on the floor! Also, the AC in one of the rooms didn't work well the first night; it was fixed the second day, but we had a miserable first night. The hotel furnishings are modern and stylish. The glass side table looked good, but it certainly wasn't sturdy. While getting out of bed I tipped it and it shattered into pieces. The hotel charged me $90 for it :( WiFi in the room allowed one device connection at one time. Kids not happy. The hotel is modern and clean. It's situated with easy access to east, west and north areas. Parking was not a problem. Joe, hotel GM, followed up with a phone call after I arrived in the States which I really appreciated; but it was obviously too late. May consider the hotel again, but will be careful that my booking details are not automatically accounted for.
