Bidwood Suite Hotel

I was pleasantly surprised by Bidwood Suites. Our room was a serviced apartment and not a standard hotel room. We had 2 bedrooms plus a small kitchen and comfortable sitting room. There was more than enough space for our family of 4 to spread out and do our own things. The staff are wonderful and you cannot beat the location if you need to be in the Westlands area. The restaurant was good but not great. Another case of an ambitious menu and an inability to cook a wide variety. They should take it to the basics (local fare, burgers, soups/salads and maybe pasta) and focus on producing the tastiest food possible. Unfortunately the menu got me excited and I was disappointed by the actual meals.

This hotel is family run, is comfortable, clean and welcoming. Staff were helpful and accommodating. We were upgrade to a one bed suite free of charge on arrival. There was a stuff up with our bill where the payment to Wotif had not registered with the hotel. It took 20 mins to sort out at check out. Not sure whose fault it was.

we stayed with the family and found this a very convenient and safe launching place for our activities. The room was spacious, clean and quiet and staff, wifi, breakfast, etc. was wonderful
