We were charged a ¥400 Tokyo city tax upon check-in. This was a surprise. This should have been included within the cost advertised on Hotels.com, but it wasn't. They said this is at all Tokyo hotels. I've been living in the Tokyo region for almost 6 years and I've never been charged this fee in the past. The room was "non-smoking'" but it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. It definitely used to be a smoking room. It was gross. We have a newborn child. I was not happy.

Very comfortable hotel in amazing location - very close to the train station and right next to all the dining and shopping action. Our family had a wonderful stay!

Great location, close to Shinjuku Station and adjacent to all the eateries and nightlife of Kabukicho. The hotel itself is a bit older but its rooms are priced appropriately. Note that like most hotels in Tokyo, the room sizes are smaller than the typical western equivalent so do your research to ensure you select the right room type and size for your needs. The buffet breakfast is pretty simple but delicious and was sufficient for me and my two teenage kids.

Clean but very overpriced for the outdated small rooms and the beds that are more like camping cots. We were much more comfortable on tatami mats that we were on the other 8 nights we spent in Japan. Our 4 pieces of luggage took up all the floor space. No closet. Not a family friendly area at night for sure! They add on taxes at the hotel above and beyond what your rate is quoted as with taxes on hotels.com so you end up paying a total of about 30% tax. Make sure you tell them to bill you in ¥ as their US exchange rate is way off. ( mine was $274 vs $336)

The room was too small for the price of 36,000.00 yen per day. We stayed for 4days for 2 rooms. The is uncomfortable specially if you had kid in the room. They turn of the aircon at night which is so hot. We been calling but nothing had been done, they just send one electric fan. I write a comment and gave it to the front desk. I ask the front how much is the rate of the room they didn't answer. We are so disappointed.

Watching the crowd crisscrossing the streets in a very calm and relaxed way was a sight to behold. Our children plan to visit Japan in December and I highly recommended Shinjuku Prince hotel as a place to stay. Again thanks for a friendly welcome. Hope to stay there again in the near future.

Could hardly sleep due to train noise. At first I thought it was construction. Then the blocks to the east is not good for those with kids. A lot of Illicit activity just 1-2 blocks away.

Shinjuku Prince is a gorgeous property and smack dab in the middle of everything. You cannot beat this location as you have access to everything! It’s a short walk to the train which is a plus if you are using metro. The triple room offered just enough space and the property was very clean and updated! My family of 3 had more than enough space for 3 large suitcases and a carry on. There was even a micro fridge! The bathroom area roomy and was separate from the sleeping space, and the views were stellar - we could see Godzilla, the skyline and there is even an interactive map in our room with places to eat and shop in the neighborhood! The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, and check in was a breeze! Convenient stores, cafes, and karaoke are conveniently located steps away, so all your needs can be met at Shinjuku Prince!
