Hotel was lovely and clean, nice authentic feeling rooms, although slightly on the small side - we stayed in a standard double room. Close to the nearest station - around 5 minutes walk, also close to a family mart.

This is a good hotel for business travelers and couples. I would not recommend it for families with kids. Hotel is only 15 years old yet the bathroom smelt quite old, stale and very unlike Japan.

Our entire family enjoyed this hotel: my husband and I were on our honeymoon, so we enjoyed the beautiful and quiet room, as well as the whirlpool bath with wonderful bath salts; my adult daughters enjoyed the breakfast and the beautiful gardens (esp the one on the 15th floor). Thanks for making this an excellent trip to Tokyo!

My family loved Hotel Niwa. The service was excellent, the bathrooms in both rooms were a great welcome to Japan - signature room with its traditional wood tub and shower, "regular" room also with a great tub and shower. Service and staff response to requests and for information were excellent. Our favorite aspect was the hotel's well-designed Japanese gardens - in the courtyard; buffering the hotel from the street; around a small rooftop terrace; and on the lower floors including the "relaxation" area. We liked the Japanese restaurant, with the exception of a male host who was self-important and rather rude (in Japan!). Fortunately the waitresses and the food made up for that.

Our family very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the Tokyo Dome. The room was comfortable. The indoor and outdoor areas were lovely and relaxing - we really enjoyed the massage chairs. The French breakfast was extensive and delicious. A very nice hotel.

1. Family trip with 2 kids ( 5yrs and 1.5 yrs), the room is not too big but enough for 4 of us. 2. The distance from JR 水道橋 is perfect. 8 mins walkable even with kids and suitcases. There’s also bunch of 7-11 nearby. 3. Atmosphere is good. Quiet place and polite staff. They offer some nice suggestion map at front desk. We went to one of the ramen restaurant they recommend ( the ebimaru ) which is fantastic; also the old book street map is useful. 4. The bathtub and sea salt is nice. The hand wash and body wash smell good too. The hotel itself is beautiful from the inside. I’d love to visit again.

Lovely hotel and despite not being in the center of things it was fairly easy to connect to the train within a 7-8 min walk. Plenty of convenience stores and vending machines (that my kids were addicted to) on the way to the station. Loved the nice touch in the traditional rooms. Laundry room is helpful though it was always busy. I don't think the 2 machines were sufficient. We had to spend a lot of time waiting.
