Our family of three stayed two nights in the Hotel Pacific Kanazawa. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, even by Japanese standards. The hotel is in a quiet location that's central to all the main attractions: we walked to them all. Our room was small but more than adequate, and immaculately clean. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
