Tokyustay Hakodate Asaichi Akarinoyu

It seems that staffs in this hotel are not well trained. Some of them really doesn't understand English. When I checked in with a 1.5 year old baby and five luggages, no one offered any help. I have to ask for a luggage cart. Then the staff just pull out an empty cart and left immediately. I left my room key in the room one day and had to ask front desk for a key card. After long wait, the staff gave me a parking pass! I had to explain again and again that I need a room key.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. Walking distance to JR Hakodate station. There is also an electric tram stop close to the JR station which brings you to other parts of Hakodate. The famous fish market is about 3-4 min walk from the hotel. Though the hotel doesn't' have a cafe/restaurant that serves breakfast, you are given breakfast vouchers which you can choose from one of the 16 eateries that are within walking distance of the hotel. The food we ate was really fresh and tasty and it's also a good way to help promote the local merchants. wifi in room was stable and the room was a decent size. There was a small kitchenette and also a washer-dryer which we found very useful. Liquid soap detergent was provided to wash your clothes. We had a nice view of the sea from our room. You can also catch a nice view of the area around the hotel from the lounge. Daily toiletries can be collected from an area next to the lift lobby and there is also a machine that dispenses complimentary coffee, green tea and milk tea also. There is a small cafe at the lobby that sells iced drinks and also desserts which is open from 10am to 5pm daily. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return to stay here if we are ever in Hakodate again.
