Warning: not a 4-star hotel. Small rooms, hot, not as advertised. We arrived with four adults as stated on Orbitz. We were told it was an illegal to have child with us and the clerk began to change our room. He claimed the charge was $180 and I thought he was getting larger room. No..he was charging us for a second room. What should have been a $500 bill for 3 nights turns out to be a $1000. They also moved us to the annex, a building up the street from the main hotel. The clerk offered no solution, and as we were traveling with young daughters, put us in an unsafe situation if we were separated. But here’s the kicker: we took the first room and made arrangements for our daughter to stay with friends on a school trip. We posted four passports and they still charged us for a second room…which we NEVER took the keys for or stayed in!!!!! I am talking with Cit and my attorneys. I am also posting this on every travel site I can find. I regret booking a room with Rome Times Hotel. What could have been a great trip to Rome was ruined by poor customer service and unethical business practices. File under Bait and Switch!!!!

The room was nice. The location was great. Our biggest issue was the shower. It was absolutely tiny, all glass, and in the middle of the room. Zero privacy if traveling with children or a friend. The shower head was as large as the space. You could barely turn around, and it was really really hard to take a shower. Plus no matter what we did it would leak out the bottom. This was evident as an ongoing problem as the water leaks so much into the toilet room beside and the wood was rotten into this room. The shower is an issue that needs to be addressed. Other than this the property was fine.

Great location to be able to walk to many of the main attractions e.g., Trevi Fountain, Colosseum etc. Hotel was clean - nice junior suite accommodating 2 adults and 2 single beds for my 2 teenagers. Really enjoyed our stay in such a beautiful city

Location of property was perfect. Walking distance from everything. Only thing was there was a strange odour in our room/washroom. However my family was in another room and there was no odour.

This hotel lack the safety feature and proper communication in case of emergency that you would expect from a 4.3 star hotel. We were staying for a few days and on our 1st night the elevator broke and we were trapped (family of 4). We pressed the service button inside the elevator but there was no response. We phoned the hotel for at least 3 times and there was no response either. Luckily our relative just arrived (we’re talking close to midnight), so we phoned her and she made the walk to the reception. After what seemed like eternity, a couple of the hotel staff came with what looks like regular knife utensil to try and pry open the door. My relative was told they could not find the key to open the elevator door. After 45 minutes of being stuck in the elevator, sweating and hyperventilating, the hotel staff managed to break the bottom part of the door. Our choice was to stay inside the hot elevator or take our chances that the elevator will not move as we try to slide through the V opening. We took our chances and made it out but we feared for our safety while we squeezed in through the V opening. The worst part is no email, no note, no apology from hotel management. Who does that?We wouldn’t want any other family to go through the same ordeal we did. We book our travels through Expedia with the assumption that hotels safety is of prime importance but definitely not the case with the Rome Times hôtel. Very disappointed travellers.

The walls had lots of scuff marks. Bathroom (shower area specifically) had no door!!! Good luck with showering while kids are nearby. We all got a single flat pillow, asked for more... twice, then received 2 more pillows (there were 4 of us).

Air conditioning is great, we had the junior suite room, size is good for 4 people, one king size bed and two sofa twin beds. The only complaint is the noise level from the street at night, and the Wi-Fi unstable.

The Rome Times Hotel was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The hotel was so welcoming, friendly...and air conditioned!!! Our room was clean and very classy. as was the whole hotel. We had the best location for all of the main sights of Rome. The breakfast was great and they catered for all. Can't fault this hotel with their very attentive staff. Would definitely return and also recommend to family and friends.

Good experience. Nice breakfast but not complimentary. We travelled with our 2 children and felt very safe.
