Hotel San Francesco

Lovely hotel, although slightly disappointed in the size of the room. It was a squeeze having the pre-booked travel cot in the room. The location was great though. I’ve always stayed east of the river in Rome, but now I’ve explored the west side, we will always stay there in the future. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Their are also hotel bikes for hire, which would have been great had we not had our toddler with us.

I WANTED to LOVE this hotel, the staff was excellent and each one went out of their way to help us plan activities, answer questions, etc. The only problem with this hotel is the location IF you happen to get a room on the traffic side of the hotel. You will hear traffic, sirens, church bells, etc. I happened to get a room on the garden side (very nice), but next to the stairwell and I could hear people tromping up and down (happened to be a school trip with about 30 kids), and the breakfast room is situation right at the bottom of the stairwell so all the scraping of the chairs and thumping and bumping could be heard in my room at all hours. Needless to say, not a lot of sleep, especially when my neighbor checked in and I could hear every cough, conversation and his TV right through my wall. I did call the front desk and they called his room to tell him to turn the TV down, so appreciated that.
